I went to go play at that park once when I first moved to Ft Fyers, several years ago. After sitting for a bit waiting to get a team together, i saw a guy walk up with a hand gun tucked into his waist band saying "where's he at?" Then started walking back to his car saying "oh you think we playing" and pulled an assault rifle out of his trunk and started waiving it around in a menacing way. Luckily I had already started walking back to my car at that point. And I never went back. I did enjoy the Friday night games at Lions Park on 41 near the hospital though.

Lund3000 I haven’t been to Orlando or Tampa enough to know. Both Orlando and Tampa are bigger if I’m not mistaken so I’m sure there’s areas with more violence, but fort Myers has its areas where there’s a lot of violence and it’s no fun being around. The area around the park is a bit low income so it attracts the wrong people. One street can be nice and safe and then you take one wrong turn and it’s an area you wouldn’t want to be in. It’s not a warzone, but trouble will definitely find you if you put very little effort to find it.
