As someone who lived in Yokohama, I must say there are really unreal beautiful parks. "Shiki no Mori park" is probably my most favorite park ever. It almost feels like an isekai world. Also, Tokyo has some really nice parks outside the centre centre. Most famously the "Showa memorial park". Not necessarily a park, but the river side of the Tamagawa river and the Todoroki Ravel are also insane places. They feel so slice of life anime.

I've always had a dog. So that obligation to walk or run them to keep em healthy get's me out the door for a walk. And parks become a god send cause it's something pleasant and interesting to walk around (& occasionally explore). When you do it daily it kinda of becomes a meditational ritual; and it can be really interesting to observe how things change through the seasons. My favorite parks are all basically miny nature reserves.

I get them on the whole not walking for walking. I enjoy being outside (grew up in the countryside) but any time when I haven't got a dog in my life if I try to walk just to be outside I get stressed out/feeling guilty as I'm just wasting time that I could be using to work and make more money and get angry with myself for being lazy with this time and I turn back early and do wore work. Partly why I like podcasts as I can listen to them while working so don't need to stress about wasting time. But whenever I have a dog in my life I can be out for 5hr+ (normally 2hr in the morning 3hr in the evening each day unless if we do a hike in the mountains) and not stress as its justifiable as its good for the dog.
