The guitar screams with that pick up you installed….. I can only hope all the haters are in earshot when I plug it in so they just have to listen to it regardless what they think about it haha ! . Keep kickin ass Mark

Hey man - big fan and been watching since the beginning of Trash to Thrash. Personal opinion: your fans don’t care to see you wasting time responding to the haters. They’re gonna be there no matter what, and I think most of your viewers know enough about guitars to disregard it. Don’t focus on the bad comments in future videos and continue to promote a positive community

I like how you use guitars that are normally forgotten and give them new life. It inspired me to get my first Jackson(and first new guitar) and put my Kirk Hammett Bonebreakers in it.

6:25 Gibson explorer shapes are all over the place. The 58, 76 and 84 design are different from each other, and additionally, Epiphone has it's own shape that is consistent across all models. When Gibson reissued the 84 explorer model around 2008, the used the wrong body shape and the wrong control layout. Also, ESP has 2 explorer shapes as well, the MX-220 and MX-250.

Just a little tip for you. Instead of using the copper shielding tape. Make your own shielding paint, it's really easy with some acrylic paint and graphite powder. It's more cost effective, and you can custom color it.

Ah, my binding comment.. 😅 Great! I'm glad you called that out because you're still not thinking this through, brother. Plus that was a poor analogy, BTW. Here's why - There's one big difference regarding painted binding/vinyl sticker side marker dots & the headstock logo that gets cleared over. You're not playing the headstock! 😉 Of course it'll be fine.. That's not going to wear off, because you're not wearing on that particular part of the guitar. However, you ARE playing the neck, on which the finish will undoubtedly wear off over time there.. You're smart, you already know this. ;) Sure, other companies clear coat over their side dots, binding, etc, BUT they're not using stickers of all things, nor are they painting over the existing binding with a different color. If you wanted orange binding, then you probably should've found some actual orange binding, removed the old and installed the new. You see what I mean here? I'm not trying to bust your balls man, I'd just like to see you go the extra mile and do it right, so that it'll last the customer decades, and not a year or two (depending on how much they play). Side dot material isn't hard to install - mark & drill the holes, plug it with the stick, cut it down flush, clear over it. It'll last forever that way. Binding is a whole other beast though, but that's another topic for a different day. Anyways, please don't take any of my comment(s) negatively - it's just constructive criticism, that's all, but I do still stand by my original comment - painting neck binding and the vinyl sticker side dots were whack. 👌 Other than that, well done. You do good work, sir! Keep it up & Rock On! 🤘

I've been researching Kelly's and the SN game is hard. Online sellers often quote the "96xxxxx" or "97xxxxx" as the year but it's really not the case. Best thing to do is head over to the back catalog of all the older Jackson models and check the guitar inside website for details. Finding the inlays and headstocks and finishing is the best way to know.

I'd love to see a VH shark shape, but painted flat black stealth stripes; with direct mounted EMG 81 (red) in the bridge, neck pickup cavity filled in, one volume knob, a lumenated kill switch where the toggle switch would be, and all black hardware. What do you think?

Great builds and inspiration for new ideas, so far! In regard to darkening Rosewood fretboards - eh... not up my alley. Sure, Pau Ferro and other new, more sustainable alternatives, which don't look that great IMO, can look nicer with a stain, but ever since the CITES regulation, despite later exempting musical instruments, most companies began to skip Rosewood altogether! Older Jacksons, particularly, used nice, thick slabs of Rosewood that still showed the grain and its natural color, unlike newer brands that used subpar slabs and would then stain it brown to mask any color variations.

I have actually done a good bit of research on the Jackson serial numbers recently. I have a Jackson Warrior with a 96 serial number, but their is no way it is from 96 as Jackson didn't start making them again until 01. It is my understanding that Jackson started using the 96 serials for their MIJ guitars in 1998 until about the mid 2000s. Serial numbers starting with 97 and 98 are also from later in this era as well.
