I watch a lot of youtube to get ideas on painting furniture. I am a beginner and just bought my first piece to sell and it is an empire dresser and so far I am going through hell trying to paint this piece and fixed the draws. It was in better condition than yours however it is given me trouble, there is a new problem I find everyday. I started really researching youtubers who have done empire dressers ( after I bought it) and everyone I have watched has a hard time with these dressers. Lol it had to be the first piece I bought to sell. I am gaining lots of knowledge on how to fix wood so it is going to turn out to be a good thing.

Already follow Cory, but now I know why shes soooooo good with that paint sprayer of hers. My dad has always used wheat gun to remove paint now I come to think of it, strange how you forget. Loved this piece and given me a great idea for my daughters room as its boho.xxx

I have had a number of these draw sets over the years. The worst one had is legs sawn off, with ugly, ugly, huge plastic draw knobs, coats of hideously applied paint, wall paper, dints and deep scratches. It had been treated with huge disrespect. It is made of solid silky oak. I stripped it but kept it’s distressed state, kept the patina, didn’t put legs on it, varnished it in a flat and now it is my favourite piece sitting at the end of my bed as a seat.

This dresser looks identical to the one I just bought - over bought on fb market place and I wish it was free. I didn’t know it was this bad until I took it home. Idk where to begin. And idk if I’ll even get to sell it for a good amount once I’m done. The drawers itself is a disaster and idk how to fix them.
