Hey Karen, I've been trying to go to your website, but Bitdefenders won't allow me to. Your website has some sort of dangerous URLs, so my virus protection program just shows a big red DANGER ALERT page. :o( I'd love to go to your website, so do you have any ideas? Thanks!

You are so talented Deb! I used to dumpster dive for many years refurbishing what I found and selling it. One of my best finds (most would say worst until they saw the finished product lol) was a victorian table with 6 beautiful legs and a scalloped top...the thing was that it had completely fallen apart, not a single leg or piece of it was attached but all the pieces were there so I grabbed this poor abused thing and took it home and put it back together, the top had a very bubbled veneer so I took that off, most of it came off but a few spots just would not budge BUT the shape of those ornery parts inspired me to hand paint them into a tree. The scene turned out beautifully and it sold for $450! Thanks for sharing your creativity, you are an inspiration!

I picked up a very old, gray, dirty, three drawer dresser next to the trash bins - brought it home, cleaned it up - added scrapbook paper to the inside of the drawers and changed the knobs to pretty crystals - it is a beautiful nightstand for my youngest daughter (she uses it for her undergarments). Would love to try up cycling with transfers next time - LOVE YOUR PIECES/VIDEOS ❤️

That's gorgeous. You're such an inspiration Debi. As for finding things, I live in Spain and people throw so much away and I can't help but pick it up. I've picked up anything from baskets to chairs, tables and chest of drawers. I do have a particular weakness for chairs though and have more than I really need or should have but just can't bare to see them go to landfill. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it ;)

Love the dresser!! My ex and I were out going to garage sales one Saturday afternoon when we stopped at a sale... on the curb was a dresser... it had truly seen better days. It was covered in stickers, glittery fingernail polish and grime. We loaded it up and to this day it is still my favorite piece of furniture! A good cleaning, new knobs and paint was all it needed!

Oh this make me reminisce about one time as a kid I pulled out this wooden flower piedestal from a dumpster and brought home, thinking I'd get in trouble for bringing it. But no, my mom loved it and told me I'd done good by salvaging something that was going to be thrown away. I was so proud and we kept that piedestal for many, many years. ❤️ I think that's how my love for junking started!

Bee-you-ti-ful design and SO creative. Excellent use of leftover materials. I'm a big walker and often find treasures. My friends tease me about being a junk collector. Just gave two wooden chests to a friend in need, and she upcycled them into beautiful bedside tables. I've found three different fire pits. Endless wire, bricks, lumber, cinder blocks, fencing, and screens, which I use to make small fences around the vegetable gardens. Two beautiful wooden Windsor chairs and a wooden Mission style table. I've found several bikes and then donated to bike drives or the Salvation Army. It's worthwhile to drive through nice neighborhoods the night before trash pickup. The things people throw away shock me. If in doubt, load it up! If you don't use it, donate or pass it on.

We are still able to go to our local dump here and pick through the dirty wood pile. It's not construction material, it's mostly busted furniture, pallets, the side of the occasional 100 year old house, and most recently the movie set from the movie The Lighthouse that is coming out later this year that was filmed here in my town. Got a ton of that old wood siding and sanded it down to finish moms room at camp. Looks like something in a Pinterest now LOL

Debi, thank you so much for sharing your life, your creations, thoughts, friends, and of course, Levi:) with us. I am a gatherer, too. I almost collected enough bricks and pavers at one house to make a whole patio. I made my children dash out of the car to collect them, and they're still resentful. I dragged home an old school headboard/bookcase that was not cute, but cozy and gave me some much needed storage. And, I love to put things out on my curb for my neighbors to take. Right now, it's a box of pears.

The best thing I ever found in the trash was a gorgeous dresser. It needed so much work. It had pieces of plastic tiles glued on it to "update" it....I guess that's what it was. It also had a damaged leg...split where the caster is. But it was gorgeous with carvings and one drawer is cedar lined. It even had a glass top that had been custom fit to protect it. When my husband saw it sitting on the front porch, he was just disgusted. He said, "Stop bringing home junk!" But I laughed it off because i knew what it could be. After lots of hard work it now sits in my sewing room holding fabric. I just love it all these years later as much as ever.

The best two things I ever found on the street were a wrought iron patio set from the fifties and a complete bedroom set from the forties (the labels were still on the back). I didn’t have a truck, so I sat on it until my friend could come get it! I use them both. They were in perfect condition, but I chalk painted the bedroom set

Hi again, Debi! I'm thrilled to see you back online. You're always a ray of sunshine and your talent just glows! Thanks for sharing. More roadside finds . . . two solid wood bookcases. I bolstered the sides with added 2x4s, then laid them on their backs and made them into raised garden beds. I found an iron bedstead (raised garden bed potential) but could not get it home. I've found old wine and wooden shipping crates, removed the backs and made them raised beds too. Short ladders or fence pieces I turned into trellises. I found a fancy compost bin, a Radio Flyer wagon, three different Little Tikes wagons, a large wooden work bench, a turkey smoker, a bunch of storage bins and units, and more. I just went into the basement and out to the backyard, and am surprised by all I've found over the years. Yikes! It is an addiction, but I kept a bunch out of the landfill.

Omg debi! You've outdone yourself again! I love this dresser. I've found all kinds of great stuff in the trash mostly my scrap wood pile is the most valuable thing I've picked but I also found a cute little table that someone had tried and failed to upholster the top. So I stripped it down and painted it with sandy blonde and geez is it pretty. That color is so subtle and rich at the same time. It came out great. I also found a hideous lamp that I painted in cowgirl coral and white waxed. It's much happier in pink. I just love your paint and I'd love to hear the story of how you came to have your paint line. I know you use to use a different paint in the beginning but I'd really like to hear your story. I'm sure it's good one ;)

OMG!!!!!! This piece is outstanding! My name is Melissa, which means honey bee, and lately I’ve collected items with bees on them. When I came across this video it blew me away. Love it! You are extremely creative and very intertwining! Just found your KZbin channel this morning and I’m hooked. I must share my “Junkin” story with you. Junkin is the German word for dumpster diving except twice a year the put everything they don’t want anymore on the sidewalk and folks can go through and take what they want. After several days the garbage men come by and pick it up. Great way to recycle I think. Anyway, I found an entire kitchen, cabinets, island and a set of shelves for our apartment many years ago. We recycled, repainted, reconfigured an entire kitchen our landlords loved it! It was so much fun so your video makes me want to get out and find some new items to repurpose. Thanks for sharing. Question for you: do you think the transfers would adhere to a claw foot bath tub which sits outside? She proudly sits outside my she shed and garden; I always wanted an outdoor 🛁.

Hello 👋 Debi. Another great 👍 video. I love that you turned this trash into a treasure. Beautiful. I went and made sure I was following your friend Karen. I’ll have to go visit her store. I’m two hours north of her. I’ve found 3 chairs and one table for free. I have all of them still. I posted the table on marketplace. It’s not selling. I might pull it out of storage and repaint the base of the table. It has no chairs with it. The table needs small chairs. The table I have had for two years. I hand painted a dahlia flower 🌸 on the top of the table with wood stain. Sealed with resin.

Geezus, Debi...that's friggin GENIUS! And so beautiful! Best dumpster find: a king size cast iron Hollywood Regency style gold gilt headboard with mirror panels. Quick sale for $400. Biggest profit: antique dining room table, eight chairs with their original black velvet fabric, and six foot GORGEOUS buffet - all hand-painted with scenes of Tuscany (subtle, not gaudy!). So good to see another of your fun videos. You are a unique artist and your furniture ideas are one of a king. Many years ago I saw an unusual coffee table next to a dumpster, it was a cream color with a little drawer. I loaded it into my car because I loved the art deco vibes it gave off. I cleaned it off, painted it (way before painted furniture was a thing) took silver paint and highlighted certain areas. I had that table for many, many years it was hard to get rid of it but I knew someone else would enjoy it when it was found once again.

Debi that is soo beautiful. You are my favorite you tube star!!!!! Now the trick to cooking liver is to cook it for just a minute On each side. Serve when it’s pink in the middle. It gets way too dry when it’s over cooked. Lots of onions. I usually fry mine in bacon grease or butter with some garlic.

I really love these videos so much, your editing really elevates these. If I ever want to feel charmed and relaxed I know I can pop on one of these. Also the bee came out sooooo cool, I assumed he already came put together like that.

I think this is my favorite project of yours! Outstanding! As for dumpster diving...I once got a like-new leather desk chair but I have found a number of other items like some shelves that I still use. I can't believe the stuff people throw out! Even if it isn't something I can use, I take it to Goodwill.

This dresser is amazing. Love your videos, thank you so much for sharing. I once found a beautiful stained glass panel in my neighborhood with a free sign on it. I didn’t have to dumpster dive but free was pretty awesome. I still have it after 15 years.

This is so cool Debi! Thanks for the reminder that trash can be treasure. My best find was a craptacular little table I found on the side of the road in the early 90's and I'm still using it with the chippy white paint to this day. Cheers!

Once found a dumpster with a ton of books from a book store that was closing. I do a lot of crafts with those book pages and still have boxes of books about 10 years later.

Tonya V just look around in dumpsters in your area for thrown away treasures! Check your local laws, but in a lot of places, once “trash” is thrown away in a dumpster - or even set out on the curb in a residential area - it is pretty much free for the taking until it is picked up by garbage collection services.
