I had a 67’ Chevy c10 when I was 17yrs old painted plum crazy purple. Still wish I had that truck back!!! 454 big block Chevy engine in it. All built by myself and a very good friend I’m still friends with at 45yrs old now.

Hey WTW, 20 years ago I went and bought one of those military trailers, it needed a paid job real bad. So I painted it white, and then I stenciled the word trash on the tailgate, so that became my white trash trailer lol, I used it to haul loads of scrap to the scrap yard and trash to the dump for 18 years until someone stole it.

My uncle had a 66 c10. I shot my first deer out of the window . I was using a single barrel 20 gauge. Back then we ran the deer with dogs. 58 years ago this past hunting season.We talk about that hunting season time and time again. . He turned 85 last Wednesday. quit dog hunting in 1992. Hopefully you will keep the truck close to the original as possible.👍🇺🇸

I would say give it a good tune-up and make it dependable then drive it all over the place. That is what I have done with mine. But I painted it with the cheapest stuff I could myself and take it to car shows

My very humble 2cents….. let old trucks be old trucks 😎……. So many have been made into modern that they can’t sell modern trucks. She’s sweet if she starts n stops

There are quite a few utube channels that take a 60's truck and go thru it and replace the shocks, check out the chassis and springs get the motor and tranny right. And then there are guys who take a straight 6 motor and go whole hog wild with engine mods, a set of total seal piston rings, a comp cam with a cylinder head kit, split 6 headers and a tranny rebuild with a stall speed torque convertor with a shift kit and electronic ignition.

I'd go with a stroked small block with stingers or boom tubes off straight pipes, 12 bolt out back and whatever transmission you prefer. Maybe find an appropriate bed cap.

Leave the driveline the way it is, run Valvoline VR1 oil in the engine. Maybe fix the rust in the fenders and rockers, matching the paint would be the hardest part but other than that I’d just drive the thing.
