I fought a trashbox but he was using Ken and he was 4 star diamond at the time. I even managed to win a 2 out of the 6 games I played. Checked his profile and he was indeed Japanese, I wonder if it was really him. Fighting a pro like that is a pretty cool feeling for me as a noob player haha

That's honestly the reason to grind yourself to Masters in hopes to get a chance to face monsters like him. Had the opportunity to play SnakeEyes and FlashMetroid in SFV long ago. It was pretty cool. Keep going and grinding

Why is their rank points only around 1700? I thought masters was 25000

Since August 1st, Capcom added a new 'Master Rate' system. There's still LP, but there's also a separate MR (master rate) value that acts more like ELO. Each match exactly 16 points are at stake and how much each player gets for winning depends on how big the gap in MR points there is. For example, someone with 1900 MR would gain 1 MR for winning but lose 15 MR if they lost to a 1400 MR player. If the 1400 MR player won they'd get 15 MR but they only lose 1 for losing. If the match is even then each player would win/lose 8 points.
