The Calendula is perfect for being terrifying. Not in the "rip and tear" sense of the Caliban, or the "oh god I can't even move or I'm gonna get shot" of the Gorgon, or even the "I'm sorry it's cannon does *how many die of damage*" that's the Barbarossa, but instead basically being an 80s Slasher movie villain by blinking in and out of existence before dragging someone into a side dimension where they now have to either 1v1 you or run like hell.

I wanna play a calendula with Uni Comp as a defender, so that as enemies are attacking me, there comes a point where my health is low and my mech is practically falling apart from the throwing everything they have at it. Until I look at the enemy whose uses the most resources on me, and have their world go black as the only other thing in their perception is me with my mech looking like the fight hasn’t started yet. "𝒴ℴ𝓊 𝒶𝓇ℯ 𝒶𝓁ℴ𝓃ℯ, 𝒸𝒽𝒾𝓁𝒹," Such an awesome frame with unique storytelling opportunities

I love the alt frame concept, and how it's been used to highlight the cultures of the people who created them. Ranger Swallowtail is a busted-up, patched, survivalist recon mech that tells the story of the long war against OVERWATCH/KINGMAKER. Mk I Genghis and Enkidu Tokugawa represent the height of SecCom's barbarity and desperation. Still picking through the book, but the traits and Abbadon's always impeccable art hint at the Baronies' situation. A society mired in long-standing tradition on the verge of a violent upheaval. Also mixing Calendula with some of the Vlad's systems might be a good way to keep a troublesome target in the Shadow Realm until the squad is ready to dogpile it.

Looking at what Calendula does reminds me a LOT of Warframes Limbo character, who also revolved around banishing allies and enemies between "void plains" and could freely move between them himself

Fun fact! While Invades might not count as tech attacks against allies (as they auto-succeed and specifically "[do not] count as an attack"), the Swallowtail's "Markerlight" and the Goblin's "OSIRIS-CLASS NHP" do not say you cannot make their tech attacks against allies. This would allow you to meet the conditions for Void Husk, and, if your DM is okay with some out of combat-prep, Execrate your entire team. As you can stay Intangible as a protocol, you can then ferry your entire team behind enemy lines before repeating the process to create an exit, creating an extremely chaotic ambush. In combat, this is not as effective, as it takes too much time to set up, but can be done on a smaller scale. Send your Blackbeard friend to the Shadow Realm, then Execrate a hostile character. Properly timed, this can open up for the BB to grapple them and drag them straight to hell. And if your DM rules Invades can be made against allies as attacks, this all becomes even easier. Food for thought.

Obviously I'm very late to the party, but I wanted to add that the Minotaur's very own Aggressive System Sync system is also capable of triggering this, not limited to hostile characters. Excommunicate in particular has no adverse effects as long as the target avoids going adjacent to allies for the duration of it, so this trick is doable at LL2 without any other dips necessary.

Fun thing with efficient core powers is to get universal compatibility, for effectively a free repair every scene, (plus of course the chance to use the efficient core power multiple times per scene)

Honestly just ferrous lash is amazing for the orchis. Additionally, anything that requires adjacency is ten times better for the orchis. 20 if you take house guard talent. I basically play mine as a bouncer. I escort my buddies into combat, use spotter 1 and bonded 1 to help them fight, and if an enemy is particularly annoying, I just pitch them away with ferrous or the core power. I'm going to take argonaut shield for the house guard synergy, war pike with supermassive for better range and knockback.

I'm trying to think it over... if it's a Protocol to become intangible yourself, and you can make someone intangible as a quick action and they're within a burst 3 of a husk, what's stopping them from moving 3 spaces? Am I not getting the movement?
@11dragonkid11 Жыл бұрын
That's because those two are different actions, you use Grammaton Mantle to become intangible yourself, and you use Execrate on other people instead.

@@11dragonkid11 Ah, I mean you become intangible as a protocol, at the start of your turn until the start of your next turn right? And when you're intangible, you can't interact with those who aren't? But if you quick action them into intangible, they're alone until you can activate it on yourself?

played a House Guard III LL 2 orchis. loved the frame, but man the perfect parry and the black witch gear left me underwhelmed... im sure it works cleaner on LL 6, but boy the mag cannon needing 2 d20s of dice (attack and hull save) to pull off and every other ability being like that also is kinda miserable... royal guard is amazing though. wave dashing on the battlefield made it cool at the very least. but yeah, after playing it i can confidently say i deeply hate how flying works on LANCER, and the distinctions of what constitute a "character", or how PCP only works for allies on their turn, amongst other nitpicks
