Wrong video to post this on, but I had a brain fart: A Goblin pilot whose mech is essentially just a remote terminal with some leg enhancements and a forcefield to represent HP. Dude's literally just running around with a computer strapped to his back singing loudly to himself to keep focus while avoiding weapon fire which would tear him apart if not for his rig. Core power is just pulling out some mountain climbing gear and clipping onto a latch on another's mech.

Genghis pilot here: Everything is correct. This mech shouldn't have been created. In fact its very creation is LITERALLY a crime against humanity. On that note, watching the world burn does truly bring a tear to my eye. Or its all the smoke and the potent radiation from these spent fuel rods.

Playing a Genghis right now that can overcharge every turn with Heatfall Coolant system with a high Engineering score. Also mech is super tanky if you invest in enough Hull score. I usually do 2 Flamethrower attacks with an overcharge (potential 10 burn/round is crazy) and I still have the second quick action for some of my systems (mostly defence based) so it can last very long. Nuclear Cavalier is rally good here, also Rank II Grease Monkey can clear conditions on a stabilise and you can still overcharge and Flamethrower enemies that try to give you some annoying status. Agility is the one I dumped so hard... but my LANCER-mate got Mule Harness so I can go piggy back on him lol. He has a Lancaster & Nuclear Cavalier too so he doesn't care if things are burning :)

The Hercynian Crisis was a first-contact "war" which spiraled into the largest atrocity probably ever committed by humanity. The Core Book is deliberately coy on discussing the specifics, but from what we can gather, the Second Committee-era Union encountered a hive-minded species called the Egregorians and proceeded to go complete scorched earth on their everything. This was also where the Mark 1 Genghis was first ever deployed. This was widely seen as Not Okay by the Union populace, and there was a bloody and brutal civil war. At the end of it the Second Committee was destroyed, and replaced with the Third Committee that runs things in the modern day, and immediately declared SecCom's literally colonial attitude to be Super Not Okay, we're ending that shit now. They didn't get all of them, however. A bunch of assholes who were part of a political group _literally called the Anthrochauvinist Party_ fled to the outer worlds, led by one John Creighton Harrison. He then founded a corpro-state: Harrison Armory. “No howling masses ever overcame the might of hope.” -John Creighton Harrison I, “Excerpt from Foundation Day speech, 4515u/1ay18”. While none of the big corpro-states are _good,_ Harrison Armory is far and away the fucking worst. They are explicitly imperialist and still engaging in colonialism of the sort that genocided an entire species, just now out in the fringes where Union can't tell them to stop (most of the time. They do occasionally piss off the DoJ/HR enough that Union has to outright flex on them, and as powerful as they are, they can't fight the Union military--winning on a local scale would provoke Union to put on the big boy pants and stomp them flat, so they follow Union dictates. When given them. In public.). They actually do the "service guarantees citizenship" crap from Starship Troopers. The company has been exclusively led by Harrison's descendents, who have _coincidentally_ all been men--it's basically a monarchy in corporate trappings, and they have suspiciously good connections with the actual no-shit monarchy in the Karrakin Trade Baronies. What I'm saying is, if you want an overarching villain for a very long campaign, Harrison Armory is a strong candidate. The background lore heavily implies they want to either break away from Union control entirely or outright shatter the Third Committee. You can get a lot of satisfaction from punching smug corporate peons right in the faceplate.

@@InchonDM haven't gotten no room for a wallflower yet, but I'm thinking up an adventure where you're either trying to help or stop HA mess with the blinkspace gate that's being constructed at the dawnline shore, and you'd either be protecting a shipment from HA that contains an nhp that will allow them to fudge the records of how many HA armed transports are coming through. Or maybe you're trying to dismantle a pirate coalition led by private spec ops soldiers working for HA. With how much opportunity is packed into the dawnline shore, I can't see Harrison not doing their upmost to undercut thirdcomm
