We were at DIO bar in summer 2018, and it was a lot of fun. I don't know any japanese, so the guy just asked me who is my favourite character, I told him Stroheim, so he screamed his name, put on an episode where Stroheim appears as a cyborg and made me a "Stroheim". It was great. I was so happy. But I think bartender ripped us off, my friend and I drank two cocktails each, and he gave us a 16000 yen check.

I'll be honest. I had absolutely no idea who Garnt or Connor were before this podcast or really any reason to as I kind of grew out of anime. Now this podcast has morphed into a great way to start my weekend and during Melbourne's lockdown, it was a bit of comfort listening. It's been brutal and this has helped kept me anchored and made me kind of revist my lapsed anime fandom in a new way. I really appreciate that I stumbled upon this :)

Yeah, I just got here because of Gigguk's "Shopping in Akihabara" video, and then I wanted to see what they got, so I started watching the Trash Taste video where they unboxed what they bought. I just thought "I'll probably just watch about 10 minutes of this to see the loot", and then 2 hours went by insanely quickly, then I watched the next one, and the next, and so on. They just bounce off each other so well that they manage to go 2 hours with nothing but solid entertainment. Now I've watched every single one, and even use it as a way to ground myself to the week. There's a lot of stuff to do in Hong Kong, where I live, but you get bored pretty quickly.

Bruh Joey should have told Aki's story of Holiday Matsuri 2019. Connor's working at McD's reminds me of my first job at the local supermarket chain. When I applied for a different job, they told me they would give me a reference. And then when the place called for a reference, they lied and said I had never worked there, and they'd never heard of me. And when I asked them why, they said they did me a favor, and that I don't deserve to leave, and that I should work for them for free for a month for the inconvenience I caused them by looking for another job. This is the place where checkout staff would pass out, because they wouldn't let them drink water at work. And when I quit, they never paid me. Years later a bunch of staff sued them. Apparently they were paying staff less than minimum wage, keeping their holiday pay, and not letting them take sick days or any other kind of leave. God that place was hell on earth.

The reason McDonald’s calls the McFlurry a “soft serve” is because they can’t legally call it ice cream. Because of the McFlurry not having enough milk in it, they are not legally able to call it ice cream. As a person who regularly goes to London MCM, I'm so glad that Connor and Garnt are spreading the joy that is Fight Club. There are so many amazing moments from me and my friends that involve either watching Fight Club or one of our friendship circle partaking in Fight Club. I met Gigguk in person by the hotels one evening at one and was very starstruck cause I was a little tipsy with friends at the time, but I went and said hi, did the usual "I love your videos" and said I didn't want to bother him too much and just wanted to say hi and made my way. If me in my slightly inebriated state can learn social boundaries enough, then you can too. I believe in you guys.

So here is my theory on why anime cons has become so much more chill. With the popularity of anime, more and more “normies” has come into what was then a super concentrated hord of socially awkward weebs. Now that the weebs has been diluted, it has become much more pleasant to swallow down. You can still get a clump of too much weebs every now and then, but it is still much better then before.

It could also be because security at conventions are much better now that they have experience on how to handle such things, such as having the "cosplay does not mean consent" rule written in convention rule books now.

In college, I actually got a factory job that let me work part time. It was honestly so much better than retail, and I literally got paid 50% more than I would make in retail. It was hard work and dirty work, but you didn't have to deal with any of the drama or Karens in retail. It was simply I come in, I do my work, I get regular breaks, and then I go home and shower. I was literally paid between $15-$18 an hour to sandblast metal. Best of all, my boss encouraged me to wear headphones while doing it because it lowered the risk of damaging my hearing if something went wrong. It was a great college job.

Honestly, I met my husband at an anime con and a best friend I consider my brother at an anime con. The first time we met our friend outside of cons the conversation pretty much went, "Oh, you've got a birthday coming up? Ok, we're going to kidnap you." "Oh, sure. No problem." @@ao.zora07 You should hear how I met my husband. Two anime weebs, he was a vendor and I was an attendee, both in costume. We didn't get together then, it was an in-passing moment, but we saw each other again two years later. I heard his voice directly behind me in an autograph line, spoke to him by asking if he was Vash from two years earlier (I believe he was Captain Harlock in the autograph line), and talked a little after getting our autographs. We ran into each other the following day, he said he was going to be in the masquerade and I saw him there, got his number to stay in contact and parted ways. That year at the con, there was a snow storm, and we both didn't have rooms at the hotel but didn't live too far away from the con, but I called him to make sure he and his brother had gotten home safely. He was surprised I would call but we started texting after that and well. . .our first date lasted 11 hours. We just knew at that point we were meant for each other. Been married for 9 years now.

As someone who organized the carts at a Home Depot, I can 100% confirm it's one of the best positions. You barely talk to anyone. You sometimes help people load their cars but they were really nice, or were busy but chill contractors getting lots of materials. I'd have to shovel the cart areas in the winter, but it was really great to just do some light work and not deal with workplace drama. They tried to make me a cashier after 3 months, and I was in a position where I could leave no problem. So I did, and I'm happy I missed out
