(primary school)- I my school we had to pray every morning and I just remember not doing it and feeling like a criminal (they had stuck the entire prayer in English and Welsh on the wall so we wouldn't mess up as well). I didn't go to a religious school either. I also had to spend a lot of time with my grandma who made me and my sister do 'bible studies' and I hated it. It was just doing schoolwork on the weekends. They just pushed the regious stuff to much and now I'm an atheist.

I’m American and I hate turkey. Ham is better. And if chicken was possible I’d get chicken. It’s just in American culture and dealing with holidays you only have a choice between turkey or ham. Otherwise you have to go against the culture push. I’m all for btw since I hate Thanksgiving food and Christmas food.

But I still disagree with them. There IS such a thing as too much fat, but it doesn’t nessisarly taste bad (ex where restaurants poor greese on top of burgers). To me it’s not what their doing that’s bad (though admittedly very messy and probably not worth dealing with, same with the melted chess’s covered burgers.) it’s the quality of the grease. The grease is the flavor, but that’s best when your don’t dry out the food I. The first place. Somewhere this comment got off track, but I think you still get what I mean. Love American bacon.

As a cook, I see both arguments about the meat debate. But Garnt is right, when meat is cooked properly and has a higher fat content it will taste much better than meat without. The argument against fat is weak, as fat is so so important for flavor. Butter is fat, avocado oil is fat, olive oil is fat, cream wouldnt be cream without fat. Fat is important for some of the best tasting foods out there!

So no, just because it has more fat doesn’t mean it has more flavor. Fat is flavorful and adds to the meat a lot but they weren’t talking about all fat or no fat. The argument was over if American bacon that has more fat is better than other bacon that has more meat. Also, then never said fat wasn’t important. Don’t know where that’s from. And the point is that just because it’s over 60 percent fat doesn’t mean it tastes better then a piece of meat that is 20 percent fat. For example when frying bacon you always let the fat render and fry it in its own fat. All that changes in your argument is that once both pieces are done you’ll be left with a smaller piece of meat because more fat has been rendered off than the other piece. If you want to argue which type of bacon is better you can argue that but if it’s the same cut with different fat ratios; then more fat is worse for you.

Culinary student here, I took a butcher class in second year and true bacon should come from the back of the pig. In a pinch you can get it from the belly but it's not as quality because of the different structures around the meat (things around bone will be less tender as they are worked more this is why roasts and hams are dense, they sit around the hip bone) the tenderloin is on the inner spine and is not moved as much as the hip and is one of the most soft cuts, the same cannot be said for human tenderloin because we stand upright and the muscles are used differently/more

@Saird
@Saird 3 жыл бұрын
@@saltywitch3699 yeah they did toward the end. They said any chief watching this is shaking their head based off the fact that fat makes it taste good. Plus the fat they were talking about is the grizzle that you normally cut off after cooking meat. The fat Garth was talking about is the flavor parts. But I agree with lard. That is over the top flavor that shouldn't be soaked but brushed on or fried for seconds.. Plus that is different from the fat that's marbled in meat since its rendered from fatty tissue of a pig.
