Nearly 95% are people relatively new in the industry that started their career at riot and have at most experience working on 1 or 2 league cinematics. To have such a quality of writing and animation shows how much care riot put into raising this team, which also results in all these unique styles the show uses in many different scenes. It really shows that unlike most media you dont need senior creators to lead these kind of things. as long as you compensate for their gap in knowledge and support them along the way even new people in these fields can create masterpieces and it makes it seem so different from other stuff since the creators arent influenced from working under other leads multiple years until they finally can show their own vision. (like usually series/movies follow ways of writing that already feel similar to previous works.but here due to the writers adn animators being "fresh blood" they can incorparate ideas that arent yet "tainted" from working under other creatives) Probably the biggest thing I actually respect Riot for. They took a huge gamble, ot havig any big names and senior producers that could guarantee a certain level of sucess but just put all of their eggs into giving these very fresh creators a chance to show their skills and it really paid of.

Arcane first episode is solid to get the pace right and anyone who complains that nothing happens is just watching it with the mental of "Oh this show is popular? where is the plot? Where is the action? Where? where?" when an entirely new cinematic universe is being introduced. 0 care about the location, the atmosphere, the individual character at all. And when something makes them a bit uncomfortable (like the art style, the OST, or like when jinx when her mental problems start leaking and they assume she is just an annoying child) they just instantly out of it. We as unbiased watchers also have doubts about any adapted film but these kinds of people have already half made up their minds even before watching so even in the best case they just said the show is "Okay".

Biggest example of this, Jinx and Vi’s origins.

@lj_aderyn3 ай бұрын
Yeah no they retconned pretty much everything. A lot of core character concepts remained the same, but the major plot changed completely. Old league lore was about a group of all powerful mages called Summoners who lived in a place called the Institute of War between Noxus and Demacia. The summoners would use their powers to summon important figures from the world to do battle in order to solve political disputes - and that was the core idea behind the battles that happened ingame. Around the time of the release of Aurelion Sol they completely retconned that and remade the world completely, even the map changed. Of course some few things remained the same, Demacia and Noxus generally don't get along, as with Piltover and Zaun, etc. Back then, Bandle City was an actual place, not an alternate dimension I encourage you to look up the "Old Runeterra Map" and you'll see just how different it was back then.

Of course step three is the art and animation. My personal feelings on the "Imagine Dragons - Enemies" is that the Opening version is MUCH better than the official one, because it's far more epic, and has symphonic orchestra following it. Unfortunately, it's shorter than the original one.

Saying the intro is bad is criminal. It's one of the best cinematic openings I ever saw. Truly one of the very very few series I actually watched the intro every time. Not even because of the music tbh (it's good!) but cause of the visuals. The references and details + foreshadowing in the intro is top notch. It's not spoiling the episodes like most animes do for example. Also I rly don't get how one who loves animes and is so deep into the whole anime/manga rabbit hole restricts himself of watching something. I thought the "something's popular I must have a diff opinion" take is 2012-ish or childish at best. I always say if the vast majority agrees and loves a media almost to the fullest it might be your own take that isn't seeing the whole picture. TBF I was also once a "mainstream hater" but that changes with the view I mentioned. Tbh joey just went full arrogant/delulu/trash opinion mode for me and I see him now as a "know it better" guy instead of a legit knowable / wisdom guy who knows much cause he watched a lot. Sry Joey that's the biggest L you ever brought out lmao. But tbh I know 2 persons like him in RL too and their takes are also brain-dead. Not saying he isn't allowed to dislike the show but he literally shits on stuff that is pure cinema without proper reasoning. His arguments are not really reasonable takes tbh. But someone who says in EP01 not much happens (it does lol) I'm not wondering. Since when are we speedrunning a good story? Not everything is starting like dan da dan or CSM... Enjoy a good build-up. It's worth more than instant action/chaos. Sex is good sex with foreplay is also good. Both can be good. Saying one is shit and the other not is a weird take tho.

This fing show created a core memory at 34 years old, where when im 80, i will think i watched this when i was a kid. I had a museum like structure in my head of shows and movies of all genres over the years. Ordered, structured. Fing arcane exploded through the wall and ruined EVERYTHING.
@mRidley5082 ай бұрын
I think we should give up on making joey watch arcane. Clearly he doesn't really care and forcing someone to watch something like that is only going to feed into him not liking it. I especially think he won't like season 2 as much because its not as perfectly written as the first season so if he makes it that far i think he will really latch onto those flaws and I don't think anyone wants to hear him talk about that.

Kind of insane Joey hasn’t watched all of Arcane, it’s literally the best thing that’s ever been produced if you like animation. It’s a triumph on every level… and season 2 only builds off those triumphs. Insane he isn’t taking it seriously as a fan of storytelling.
@KOFNY2 ай бұрын
Only seen S1 and I agree on the animation standpoint. Storytelling wise I think it’s just good. Not the masterpiece everyone was saying it was.
@christianschumann9927Ай бұрын
Fr a person who talks a lot about animation, the production, the art direction and more on animes is missing history in animation just because... What fortiche did with arcane could be inspiring for the whole anime industry (especially those who use 3D) cause I've never seen such godly executed 3d animation like in arcane when the style still mixes 2d and 3d together.

I only just realized it after hearing Joey saying it - the story did actually start as if it was gonna be "good guys vs bad guys" in episode 1. I never thought about it like this for a second because I knew a bit about Piltover and Zaun already from the League lore. Not saying you could never make a "good vs bad" story in this setting but I just didn't think they'd do this with these two cities.
