The WHO predicted that by the year 2020 there would be one suicide every 20 seconds. Did you know that? And that is not including the deaths ruled as an accident or the suicides not counted
Dr. Lulu takes us on a journey from her own traumatic childhood to present day children’s reality, as she paints a picture of the real reasons behind childhood suicide. In an emotional tell-all she also includes hope and instructions on how you can help her achieve her dream of a youth suicide-free world by the year 2025.
That’s around the corner, so you better hurry!
SPEAKER BIO:
A former Lieutenant Colonel in the US Air Force, Uchenna L. Umeh (Dr. Lulu aka The Momatrician) is a Nigerian-born board-certified pediatrician, global speaker on youth suicide prevention, 3-time bestselling author and mother of three. She is the CEO of Teen Alive, and Dr. Lulu’s Youth Health Center, both dedicated to at-risk youth and youth suicide prevention.
She started speaking publicly in 2018 following suicides of colleagues, and a patient. Herself, a survivor of childhood and adult trauma, she has also struggled with suicidal ideations. She is a regular on various media outlets, she is a freelance-writer, has a podcast called Suicide Pages with Dr. Lulu, and blogs at Words by Black Butterfly.
Her work has been recognized by the “Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission” of Nigeria, and the Texas State House of Representatives. She has been featured in The Washington Post and Parents magazine and interviewed by The History Channel and is currently working on a documentary series on suicides in the minority community particularly children.

This was so emotional and moving. Thank you for such a great video Uchenna. I know someone close to me who has been suffering depression for many years. However, they refuse to get help. I know a mother whose only son took his own life at the age of 25, two years ago. You have given us great information. May your work continue to help and heal❤💜🙏🏾

The common sense she speaks of is what professional therapists and psychologists don't have, but should. Common sense and awareness of child's emotional and mental safety needs should be the most important qualifying factor in anyone who enters a master's degree program in mental health. But, it's not. Anyone who doesn't have a criminal record can become a licensed therapist which is a suspicious act in itself. Schools want to make money. Profit should never come before a patient's emotional and mental well-being.
