@they are different cause people are mad. Violent crime against kids was worse in the 70’s than now. When I was a kid in the 80’s not only were their fist fights after school in the parking lot almost ever far but the principal mister Dunn saw me getting pushed around by David Gargano who was 2 years older and far bigger but Dunn grabbed us and kicked us out the fire door and said “I’m gonna force you to stand up for yourself by making you face him alone.” There was WAY more violence in schools. My son wore a shirt to school that said the name of an mma gym on it and they called me to come to the school and take him home for promoting violence cause the wore “fight” was in the shirt. I just laughed which pissed them off. And as far as abduction of kids again it was far worse 40 years ago. In fact twice I had men that were obviously diddlers try to lure me somewhere and once in rhe hospital a male nurse put his hand down my Johnny trying to grab me junk. I pushed him away and cursed at him and he stopped. I told the doctor and he didn’t care. He said “well no harm done.” Kids today grow up in an artificial world.

Sidenote: I know that cycling to school in the US is not an option because our infrastructure is designed to intergrate cycling but you get the idea, if you hold your kids hand every step of the way they will never turn into adults.

If children walking in the streets are dangerous, then perhaps law enforcement should focus on ensuring the streets are free from the crime that may result in citizens being preyed upon, while going about normal interactions. Easier to pursue the innocent, then expose their own incompetence by searching for a crime that doesn't exist. A good law enforcement officer protects the community by setting the example and upholding the Constitutional rights of the people which they swore to uphold and defend. There is a reason why many departments fill spots with anyone that has a pulse, maintains power through intimidation using the badge. Find the motivation by following the money.
