It's Wilma and I's most awaited day of the year. We are in Canada!!!
Early this year, we have booked our trip to Banff and we just couldn't stop talking about it to each other. We have planned everything and searched all the areas and activity we could do. Well, the day has arrived and all our plans went to trash and just winged everything, of course with our base plans. The first day of the trip was mostly traveling from Arizona to Canada. We we're so tired so we stayed in the hotel for the night and did our grocery shopping the next day.
Johnston Canyon Trail to Upper Falls
Length: 3.5 miles
Elevation Gain: 900 feet
Route Type: Out and Back
Our first day of adventure is exploring the downtown of Banff which is really magnificent with all the snow capped mountains surrounding the small town. After breakfast and grocery shopping, we went to Johnston Canyon Trail to check out the Lower and Upper Falls. It was an easy paved hike so I was already expecting a lot of tourist will be on the area. We skipped the Lower Falls as the line is very long! Delightful scenery along the way with minimal elevation gain. As we reached the Upper Falls, there was still a line but not as long as the first falls since this one is further. Everyone was pretty respectful and wait for their turn. Along the way back, we wanted to go to Lake Louise but we realized it was late that afternoon and there's no way we can find a parking for our rental car. The bus from Johnston Canyon was cash basis and we did not have cash with us so we decided to do the Lake Louise the next day and head back to Banff and explore more around.
