Europa Park in Rust, Germany!! Europe's 2nd most popular theme park after Disneyland Paris. 15 areas representing different countries and fairytale lands. Over 100 rides and attractions. Great mix of family friendly attractions and coasters. Really enjoying this series of videos!

I already mentioned Europa-Park (Rust, Germany) in your Shanghai video and why I thought would be interesting to see since it has different sections themed to the various countries of Europe. Another unique park near Paris is Parc Astérix, which is themed to the French comic book series Astérix about a village of Gauls (a group of Celtic tribes that are among the ancestors of the French) set around 50 BC resisting Roman occupation thanks to a magic potion. The series also features the characters traveling around the known ancient world in some issues, so the park also has sections themed to different ancient cultures like Rome, Greece, and Egypt.
@Undrave Жыл бұрын
Europa Park looks cool indeed. I agree Parc Astérix would be a real cool visit, and if not this year I think they should go when Miles is a little older and can go on more thrill rides! The Lutece Wharf hotel they have other looks absolutely AMAZING! Did you see it?
@adamgourley6412 Жыл бұрын
@@Undrave Yeah, the hotel (and the park) have pretty good theming from what I saw on their website. There were videos and 30-degree virtual tours. I haven't been to Parc Astérix, though I have been to Europe, just not for any theme parks. I know of Parc Astérix because I've read some of the series in my studies of French and German.
@Undrave Жыл бұрын
@@adamgourley6412 I've never been either but I've been watching some videos about it recently and it looks fun. And I too love Asterix! You know the last one, Asterix and the Griffin was that year's top selling BOOK in France. Not top graphic novel or top comic, just BOOK. Period. Nuts! It's a good one so I guess it deserves it.

Europapark please 😊 looking forward to more happy and safe travel vlogs ❤
I think I've already mentioned Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen where Walt got a lot of inspiration for Disneyland, but we also visited Parc Astrix, just outside of Paris. I decided to forgo Disneyland Paris and go to Parc Astrix. (Sigh - one of my biggest regrets! I NEED to go to Disneyland Paris!!!) But it was interesting and full of fun Astrix theming (the little Gaul from French comic books). To compare, think Magic Mountain. Similar vibe. My husband loved the big rollercoaster called Le Tonnèrre de Zeus (Zeus' Thunder). He STILL rates that one high in his list of best coasters. It's a uniquely themed park, that's for sure. Très français!
@Undrave Жыл бұрын
They upgraded Tonnère de Zeus into Tonnère 2 Zeus recently ( :p ) you get the option to ride it BACKWARDS. They opened a new ride, Toutatis (which is also the name of a thunder god, amusingly enough), this year.

I swea I posted about this but I think it got lost? You should visit Parc Asterix in France! It's got tons of thrill rides, including a rare bobsleigh coaster, multiple water rides, and well themed flat rides, and it is themed to a French comic book that happens in 50 BC Gaul. There's a Gaul village, a Roman camp, a Greek section, an Egyptian section. They also got three hotels, including a themed one call Luttece Wharf. The comics are available in English if you want to discover the characters and the world, and it's very child friendly.

Efteling’s Symbolica ride looks like a castle too, so a great substitute for Shanghai. As a Dutch person I recommend to try some “poffertjes” or “pannenkoeken” when you’re there! :) I’ve heard good things about EuropaPark and Phantasialand in Germany too.

10:10 One small detail that's kind of funny: The Rubik's cube that Chris pans past is actually an impossible configuration on most Rubik's cubes. If you look, you can see the yellow center is adjacent to the white center which is impossible because the centers don't move in relation to each other and those two colors are almost always on opposite sides.

If you are in Normandy France a must stop should be the Normandy American Cemetery. It contains the graves of nearly 9,400 war dead, and nearly 1,600 names on the Walls of the Missing, most of whom lost their lives in the D-Day landings and ensuing operations. It's the cemetery at the opening of Saving Private Ryan. You also will be close to the British and French cemeteries as well as Omaha Beach.

This is for maybe a couple years+ from "now" but I do recommend going to VinWonders in Phú Quốc, Vietnam, if you feel comfortable traveling there. It's the largest theme park in Vietnam, opened in 2020 and they've been slowly adding to it, hopefully with more to come. Pretty interesting, it has an aquarium and a waterpark along with rollercoasters and other normal theme park rides. Has a castle and a really cool night show. The resort also has a zoo and a "Disney Springs" like shopping (mostly eating) area themed after Venice which is where the night life exists. Also BaNa Hills in Da Nang was fun, has some rides but it's really more (in my opinion) for pictures and eating, like the perfect Instagram place

I can't wait to visit London with you... and the castles. Have you signed up for the family subscription to Historic Royal Palaces yet? You'll save a bunch of money and get to walk into the castles instead of waiting in line... assuming that the included castles are the ones that you want to visit. I know we were able to do this with the Tower of London, Kensington Palace, Hampton Court Palace and the Royal Banqueting Hall at Whitehall (in Westminster). Also, if you're going to Westminster Abbey, buy your tickets at least a day in advance and you'll save a lot of line waiting time.
