Hello, I've noticed that most reviews for the zhiyun X100 are negative, primarily due to faulty batteries. Would you still recommend it? If not, could you suggest a lightweight travel light? I often shoot in remote locations, so size and weight are important factors.

Hi Dan. Yes I also had this issue with this light and my battery just seemed a bit loose on the light when attached. It wasn't long before it wouldn't even charge. I did not know others had this issue. The light itself though is so useful. I now use an Anker power bank and runs a lot longer. I keep it in my bag alwas, small footprint but delivers.

The one simple packable cheap modifier that I always use (but they get NO respect - I think because no manufacturers make any money off them) is the OG Umbrella! Add a diffusion 'sock' and you have a cheap portable quick brolly box. The only downside is no grid control of spill....

Zhiyun is the best...my battery stopped working, due to their self confessed manufacturing flaw and then they sent me a refurbished but working battery...YAY CHINA!

I haven’t had a bad experience with them so far but any technology can fail really 😁
