I agree on most of your points, and yes September and October are great months to visit the busy islands or greece in general for budget wise, however too much focus is on the islands, I do alot of mainland greece coast holidays and going to these areas on mainland Greece is not an issue as most of the tourists are on the busy islands. If you travel to the coastline mainland beaches you have a more comfortable experience and pay half the cost then traveling to the islands, great video

May is definitely great weather in Greece. Ios is a great island for white-washed buildings with blue domes without all the craziness of Santorini. Bakery shops do have great food at great prices! We also had empty ferries without assigned seats and we had lots of options of where to sit.

I'm going to Crete this summer. I already saved so much money by booking everything 8 months before for 3 people. August is really busy months for Greece not only because of many foreign tourists but because even Greeks have vacation vacations and everyone is traveling around the country.

My pleasure Hannah! I found mine on airbnb and then negotiated the rent. If you are coming during the busy season, they might be less willing to negotiate but if you are coming during the off-season, you will be able to get an amazing deal.

I love your videos and find them incredibly useful. We are planning a trip for end of September into October of 2023. We are island hopping. Do advise to wait until we get to each island to book the ferry to the next island? I'm so afraid of not having everything in place. Some blogs say that it's cheaper to get the ferry when you're on the island versus booking affair through ferryhopper app. Also, you advised to go off the beaten path to rent a car which we plan on doing on each island. Santorini, Milos, Paros and Mykonos. Are you able to private message or provide directions to where these car rental places are? Some of the apps are very expensive if you try to book ahead. I'm trying to do this vacation on somewhat of a budget.

Thank you Thank you Thank you! I will be gifting a trip to Paros Greece with my children and some friends. I want to do a nice Air B and B Villa not too far from the restaurants, Tavernas and bars. We're going to need 5-6 bedrooms, (must have a pool), We will need 2 car rentals for our stay as well. So, I hope there is a good deal out there for a large group accommodation. Usually, you can just purchase them there. But this year, due to so many tourists, I would recommend to go ahead and purchase them already.

It depends on how many islands you'd like to visit. I'd say about 10 days would be ideal. September, in my opinion, is the best time.

Yes, you can definitely fly. I personally prefer ferries in Greece because you don't have to arrive a couple of hours in advance, do check-in, pay for bags, etc. And the views of the nearby islands are incredible. But you can definitely fly if that's what you prefer. I flew a couple of times in Greece and it was a good experience.

It is possible, but unfortunately you will be pretty limited to where you can go and how much you will be able to explore. If you don't plan on driving, I recommend staying in one of the main villages, this way you will have access to the shops, restaurants, some beaches, etc. And most of the popular islands have taxis, so you can always move around the island this way.

Artemis, thank you so much for your kind words. For Athens I strongly recommend to not rent a car, unless you absolutely have to. Driving in Athens is very hectic and even locals recommend to use public transportation whenever possible. I must say public transportation in Athens works very well. I stayed there for over 2 weeks and did not feel once that I needed a car. You can do two things. One, google a few local car rental places, talk to them about prices and usually they will come and bring you the car to the airport. Two, get on a public transportation to arrive to the city and then check out a few car rental places and negotiate.
