some ideas (what I want to do soon): - step tracker (set one up at the beginning of the book, keep track) - print out or handdraw a map where you visualise your journey (if you travel around in a country) - citymap with all the cool places, favourite pubs/shops/sights - little weather logs - Write down one special sentence a day - leave space to put in pictures later, as you (or at least I) cannot print them out while you're travelling - draw some sceneries/houses/sights - stick in tickets, maps, postcards, programs of plays/films you've seen - press-dry leaves and flowers (if not endangered) and glue them in - write down songs you sang/listened to - make little pockets/envelopes out of paper in advance and stick them in while travelling when you want to keep something but you don't want it to be glued/taped down - put some washi tape on a little cardboard piece so you can decorate - doodle some food/ special things of the country into your book any other suggestions?

Winsor & Newton half pans fit the Portable Painter almost perfectly. I use a little blu-tack to keep the pans more firmly in place, but a little overly wet brush activity will create a paint-based glue if you don't have that option available. In any event, the Portable Painter is worth every penny.

An alternative for paints which I find quite great are posca pens. I don't live in the UK, but my brother does and I've heard they can be found in hobby craft. give them a try if you want/can cuz I find them great. I will also definitely remember what you're doing to find my travel journal way.

you should try out the Sakura Koi Watercolor Pocket Field Sets, i've been using mine for years and love it. It's super portable and adorable and the brush it comes with is pretty good too!

The portable painter looks awesome! I have been using plastic ice cream cups for my water, but having everything in one is such a nice idea. I would love some tips on how to actually make time to paint when you are exploring somewhere new. I find that actually making time when you are there is super hard, and especially since I seldom travel alone. :)

I love using watercolor pencils... just a dab of water on the end of your pencil and you have paint:-) a cap full of water or a water brush!! sketch a few lines in pencil and add a few dabs of paint with the pencil or just a few lines and add water:-) so easy... also you can mix colors on a separate piece of paper so you really only need a few basic pencils and travel light:-) You can do this with watercolor markers like tombow as well...

Have you ever tried watercolour pencils? Handy for travel,comes with a brush in the box, and sometimes I'll use the pencils but wet it later.. loving your videos..i've been in quit the rut lately and they seem to help me focus. 💕
