Here are some of the basics of launching a drag car dealing with the front suspension. Some of the things we experience when at the track and how to make adjustments. Travel limiters, struts, and cool spring rate. Higher rate, less travel!

Like your event Purse.... as I said I’m a NEWBY to this life, but do also know that sometimes people go missing if things don’t go their way. Is it the same type of scene over there? And if so, any suggestions?

In the dirt racing world we run these on the left rear to limit lift on a 4 bar car to adjust rear steer and bar angle. We run bushings or bump stops so when the chain hits it wont shock the chassis or pull the left rear. I could see this being a help in the drag world to not shock the chassis. Some cars run a spring even though its not legal in the dirt world u can fine tune it easier. Let me know if u need some more info or maybe u have tried this before.

I've heard you talk about anti squat. I'm fifty one years old and finally can afbored to start building a street rod. As a beginner, are you saying that I should go with the idea of having rear squat If i'm running under a thousand horsepower? I will be building a 49 gmc truck.

Turbo John, i have a question, 89 coupe ,50/50 Lakewood rear shocks,upr adjustable rear coil overs, the ones were rear shocks go in,upr adjustable uppers, spherical bushing,south side lowers,people were telling me to ditch the rear coil overs and put a set of team z rear drag springs?your opinion, this is a street ride track few times,should i just leave my set up?thanks,you are thr man
@TurboJohnRacing
@TurboJohnRacing 4 жыл бұрын
My buddy Joey, just put the upr coil over setup on his. But has only been out once. I would prefer a coil over that gives some ride height adjustment over stock location springs. IMO

General question for you from a neophyte. It would seem that there could be a big difference in RT (car only vs driver) between a slick car vs a radial car. Slick has to compress and then gain some wheel speed vs radial which dead hooks. Seems a radial car (with everything else basically the same) would react much quicker than a slick. Am I correct?

I would think you are correct!
