Hákarl is something most Icelanders never eat. It is better than starving - that is all I can say about it. He/they should have tried kjötsúpa, Hangikjöt, Lambakjöt or ýsa; (boiled or fried haddock),with potatoes and smjöri(butter). They could have tried a lot of good food icelandic people eat daily... or seldom like Sviðakjammar that actually are eatable. I love brains...especially goat brains. One of the best dishes I've ever had was curried goat brain over fragrant basmati rice with caramelized onions and tamarind syrup. Also, I eat menudo about 6 times a year (Mexican tripe soup). I love organ meats...aside from chicken gizzards which have the texture of intertubes and almost no flavor...and I've tried them 4 different ways with the same result.
