Great to hear that, and glad you want to move to Thailand for a while, that's a great decision. As you know, nearly everything is available in Thailand!

Hey, ah, great to hear you use the sling bag too. I've used it for a few years now and still love it. Yah, good idea with the headlamp, I should have included that in my list. I have one also, and it comes really handy for reading at night. Thanks a lot for watching!

Yah, I agree, as long as you can still easily manage what you carry with you, that's what matters!

Hey Philip, ha, thanks for sharing your story! Yah, as I mentioned below, will try to make a video about how I afford travel, but I mostly make a living by freelance writing, my blogs, and selling my ebooks from my blogs. Glad you travel with just carry on too!

Hey, I was there about 5 years ago just for a few weeks and didn't make it to Machu Picchu, so I don't have really any specific suggestions other than just go and enjoy. Make sure you check the weather and also bring your hiking gear! Have a great trip!

Cool, glad you reduced, and like we've both said, it's not about trying to eliminate everything, it's about how you feel comfortable!

Hey, that's a great thought, and I do understand. But I think exchanging some of the t-shirt for button down shirts wouldn't add too much weight / space. And like I mentioned in the article - to me it's not about packing light - it's about packing comfortable, so whatever comfortable means to you, that's the best way to pack!

Hi, I have just a no-brand universal adapter, yes works with any kind of power and any kind of socket - there are many different plugs in it. If you look at the article I posted in the description box of this videos, I linked to the same one I have.

Good question! That's the problem, I really like the leatherman and it's so useful, but yes, has to be checked in. So if you're planning to only hand carry and fly, it's probably best to just pick up a small knife once you arrive. I sometimes travel with it, sometimes not.

Hey Magnus, I let me wife carry the osprey! I love it, but it doesn't offer much protection for a laptop, that's why I know carry the north face. Both great packs to choose from, but the north face has better protection for a laptop.

Hey Brandon, I actually have a no-name brand adapter, that I picked up in Thailand (probably made it China). If you click on the article that goes with this video, I linked to an adapter that looks exactly the same as the one I have... minus the brand name.

Hey, great to hear you'll be going to Korea soon! I like the North Face better, mainly because it caters to my laptop. If I didn't carry a laptop, I would probably use the Osprey. Are you planning to travel with a laptop? So hope that can help you... Maybe you can go to the store and try some on, see how they feel, and how it will suit you, before making a decision. Hope you have a lot of fun!

Dear Mark! A little note about buying clothes in South East Asia. This my be just fine if one is thin and not too tall, butI know first hand that if you are a little chubby (like me), or very tall, buying clothes in SEA can be very hard. A couple of years ago I spent the better part of a day running around one of Manillas megalmalls (Mall of Asia I think it was), trying to find clothes that fit. I wore L-XL, at home, but in the end I had to settle for piké-shirts that sat like tank-tops and was I think 3XL or 4XL (yeah, sizes are not the same). Had a similar experience in Thailand, at Ko Chang, trying to buy a pair of shorts. The only thing I could find that fit were a pair of getto-lloking things that probably was meant to be much baggier than they were on me. Have friends with similar experiences, so these days I bring all clothes from home. Thats worth considering if you're a little bit plus size. Anyway, thanks for some great videos... /Freddy

This is great! My husband and I are going to the Philippines for 29 days and this was SO helpful. I'm taking a backpack similar to the size of yours and my husband is taking a larger one that he goes camping with. This has given me hope that I will be able to fit all of my items in my smaller sized (in comparison to his) backpack. Thanks so much!!

Hey, I think I had just gone to the ATM when I made this video. I normally travel with 2 credit cards, 1 for backup. However, I would take almost all the cash and the credit cards and store them in my "in pants" wallet and then just keep a small amount (like 1 days worth) in my wallet in my front pocket. The "in pants" wallet is just a great way to avoid being pick-pocketed.

Excellent advice. I'm going to Japan next month and always pack light. Another good idea for clothes is to take stuff you don't mind leaving behind. I usually need new socks and underwear so I tend to leave these behind in the trash at the hotel. Leaves more room for any goodies I buy.
