Hi Cindy and Alec - I’m in Aiken and we got hit by Helene. This was my first experience of a Hurricane. I’m from California and I thought Earthquakes were bad, I take that back now. We were without power for 4 days, my Father-in-law was without 7 days and some of the residents as of today, Sunday they are still waiting. Safe travels 😘🙏
@SHARINGJOURNEYАй бұрын
We li ed through Hugo! That hurricane 🌀 put a tree through our roof. We hate that you are having trouble from the hurricane ... but we would rather do a hurricane over an earthquake! My sons future in-laws live in Aiken. As of this morning, they still don't have power.

Just make sure to take pictures or videos of all the state signs Cindy!!!

I thought I would get tons of rain with Helene. I’m only east of where it came on shore about 90 miles. Only two inches of rain . Helene decided to hold off I guess? One oak down in my yard and only two days without power this time . I have good friends in Blairsville as well! Safe travels guys ! 😁👍

@ralphp3057 hope all the roads are open. Slides in Jack's Up! I did not even get sick

@@SHARINGJOURNEY That’s good you didn’t feel sick ! With all the devastation hit by rivers flooding in western NC . I wish Helene would have dropped much more water here in Fl. We can take it with being flat and porous rock underground. It’s terrible what has happened in the mountains. Very sad ! Safe travels.😁👍

We still without power in upstate SC.
@SHARINGJOURNEYАй бұрын
I am so sorry you are having to deal with that. The campground owner in Dillon says they have power now.
@MzVickyАй бұрын
The rain was worse with Helene. The wind was what got us with Hugo. Both bad storms but different. Both we lost power where I am in NC. Hugo moved faster from what I remember than Helene did. Helene I feel would not as been as bad as Hugo if it wasn't all the rain we had leading up to Helene. It was the combination of the two storms meeting. The Fujiwhara effect is the scientific name.
@SHARINGJOURNEYАй бұрын
We sure are glad yall are ok .... Hugo was the worst hurricane we have ever experienced.

Good luck with your future plans. On another video I commented about starting this kind of travel adventure and you so kindly gave me contact information, which we used. My husband and I will be working summer 2025 at the KOA where you have been in West Yellowstone. We are really looking forward to this new chapter for us. I will of course continue to follow your videos, which have been very helpful in our planning. Thank you!

Have enjoyed your content as I consider work camping when we consider "retirement" which is just single digits away. Safe travels and good luck in the future. I live in Lafayette, LA and curious where you son lives in Louisiana without giving away too many details cause I am a complete stranger (lol). Wonder if it's close to Iowa where y'all have stayed in the past?
