Could you please tell me what the expectations are as a TWS? Specific day to day duties
@TassyMaee365 Жыл бұрын
Honestly, I can’t. It really just depends on the assignment. What I did as outpatient oncology vs what I do as a discharge planner arent the same. But I will say an expectation is that you come in train a day or two then hit the ground running.

I am currently a student in an MSW program, about half way done. I have few questions so please bear with me lol. Can a practicum experience in medical SW apply to the two year experience in medical SW recommended/required? I’m curious of how many states is recommended to have your LMSW in before you start Travel SW? If you do get multiple before starting with a company will they reimburse you for all of them or do you need to be signed with a company before getting the multiple LMSW’s to get the reimbursement? Since I learned about travel social work I have been going into a deep dive and your videos have definitely helped me grasp a better understand of what the job process is like, thank you so much!

Heyyy thanks for the questions. As. of now, most agencies prefer you to be licensed before signing up. MOST assignments want you to be licensed to start and not pending. Some will accept you pending, but I feel like that's only if they see that you have licenses in other states. As far as reimbursements, they will only happen if you get the license for as assignment with your agencies. I'm not sure if all agencies reimburse for it but Aya does. Lastly, I do not believe school experience can count toward the two years. Most hospitals want you to have discharge planning experience. It took me almost two years of travel to even be considered for inpatient assignments. I finally found a hospital to take a chance on me because they were desperate and I'm thankful because I absolutely love it. Hope this helps! Please feel free to email me at satasade@thetravelsocialworkbabe.com

Hello, can you spell the agency that you are with? Also, do you pay for medical liability insurance? Can you tell me the estimated pay for a travel social worker that have many years of experience, but I don’t have ER experience. What is the estimated weekly pay? Does the agency pay for flights and entail cars?
@TassyMaee36511 ай бұрын
Hello, I’m with Aya Healthcare. I get medical insurance from my company. The pay for each assignment varies. Right now, rates are all over the place. Agencies do not pay for rental cars or flights, but my agency has a discount on the rental. And some agencies offer relocation reimbursement which isn’t much ($500). Hospital experience is key, but if the hospital is desperate enough they will take you. I will say it was hard to get an assignment without the experience.
