Natasha Hynes, from Montreal, Canada, bought a Dodge Sprinter van in 2021 with the dream of waking up in the mountains of the West Coast. After downsizing her life to move out of a toxic living situation and into a van with her 3 cats, Natasha crossed the country overcoming many obstacles along the way.
Over the following four months she would cross the country two more times, once on her way to document a historic moment in Canada, and another after being abandoned without a vehicle by her then co-traveler on the wrong side of the county.
While facing many life-threatening scenarios along the way, she made her way back to her van on the west-coast. Her vlog, Quest Out West, chronicles the good and bad of van life, travel, and life struggles without the glamorous bias you see on social media, with the ultimate goal of inspiring you to face your fears, transcend limitations, and go after the life you really want.

The hardest lesson we learn from being a scapegoat is that we really are on our own. We find out that our "friends" and "family' were never our friends and family. I believe the next revolution will be mass homelessness. Scapegoats will hav to find other scapegoats and form communities. That is what all scapegoats lack, community. We are scattered,.but maybe one day we will have our own land and identity.

Sudbury: 25 years of working Psychiatric for the Government. I grew up with emotional neglect due to a Narc mother who said children don't need love or hugs or bedtime stories. My brother was my hero who could do anything but tell the truth, have empathy or care about people. We all need an anchor and we hear stories about family being everything but what happens when they are nothing but an uncaring toxic brew. Run Bambi run, because they will poison the water and then say that you did that.

Wow, some parts of this is my exact story. Me cats are 13 & 14 years old & they are the only reason I’m keeping on. (44 & no kids but in this world today, I prefer it that way) Like you, I’m wanting to fight for what I believe in but I’m so tired too. I was in Ottawa also & it was truly remarkable! I can’t afford Ontario anymore so I’m heading out to New Brunswick at the end of May. I have no family that can bother returning calls & no friends because work takes all the time you have & are still sinking financially. I thought about sharing land with others too & all helping out together growing food & raising livestock… working for ourselves instead of the man. I’m so sorry about the passing of Nala. It’s beyond heartbreaking. You gave her love & compassion so she truly had a wonderful life. I hope your heart heals gently. 🫶🙏

You have the power to redirect your life, at least to the greater extent. *For your own good,* don't put any responsibility or blame for anything in your life on anyone else- all that does is strip you of your own power, make your feel resentment to those you care about, take responsibility off your own shoulders...and, it's not fair to other people who are merely living their lives, just as you are trying to live yours. Are you high or just toxic? Abusers deserve to be blamed for their abuse. Your comment is not only gaslighting, but consescending. We should brainstorm ways to mark time (safe place) while moving ahead (mentally) so you can move ahead (spiritually) and get yourself closer to where you want to be.

Well, once again...I KNOW EXACTLY how your feeling and am going through the same thing...basically...still stuck living w/my mom until I get my brakes fixed and find some work, which has been nearly impossible for me as well...due to medical issues and other things. I will never give up...and I'm sure you won't either. We both don't want to live this way! We are all resilient. My life has been a roller coaster ride. My life significantly changed in 2017, work place head injury. I did all the therapy, vestibular, physio, speach, etc..... then worksafebc cut me off and after a year and a half of fighting there decision, won. All of this caused my mental health to 👎 I tried working through that dumpster fire which didn't go as well as id like.🤷‍♂️ i didn't think things could have gotten worse. After being in the shyi
