Still beautiful. I grew up in Forest Hills - lived there from 1940 to 1964. Went to Public School 101, "The School in the Gardens." I was so fortunate.

NYC has five boroughs that are distinctly different from one another. There are villages, suburban neighborhoods, big parks, wealthy, middle class and impoverished areas. NYC is not just manhattan. look into manhattan beach neighborhood in Brooklyn, there are so many mansions over there. Flatbush neighborhood (Brooklyn) has many Victorian home. So does the Midwood neighborhood (Brooklyn)

I enjoy your videos... Suburbs, trees, nice quiet side streets and close to stores, Doctors etc with out being in the crowded city. ..the people walking around, talking all mix's together for a very relaxing setting. THANK YOU

Yes me too the darker the house look. More ivy and more unkempt, the more they disturb me someway. This is by the way built to ressemble an English village

I used to live on Long Island, and I would take the LIRR to go into the city. On occasion I transferred at Forest Hills and while waiting for the next train I would look down at that little town center below. I always wanted to take a tour of the neighborhood, because of the interesting aesthetics of the town. I never got the chance to do so before I moved. Thank you for doing this.

What a great place in the 🇺🇸! It is comforting to know there’re still places like this outside of major cities there… this neighborhood reminds me to my hometown in Buenos Aires - Argentina🇦🇷: it is called Ciudad Jardín Lomas del Palomar (the 1st Garden City in South America), it’s like a public gated community, and surrounded by The National Military Lyceum, train stations, and El Palomar Stellantis automobile factory. There are plenty of videos to enjoy online whoever wants to see! 😉

I live in “The Gardens” and it’s beautiful every season. Because we have the densest tree cover of any part of New York City outside of our parks the Fall leaf colors can be fantastic but we have to sweep a lot of leaves, especially because our sewers are smaller than the rest of the NYC area. The winter snow cover makes the community look magical, especially at night under the muted street lights. There is also Christmas carols by the Square on Christmas Eve with a Santa Claus parading through the neighborhood.

(3:51)..Our mom lived here on Station Square at the Forest Hills Inn. She loved the feeling and vibe. The woman who owned her apartment was a doll, and gave her a very cheap, (senior adjusted) rent, where mom lived with her kitties in coziness, privacy, and independence for a very long time...When she wanted to come into town, she walked up and got on the LIRR and was at 34th Street in zip time...Mom is in Heaven now. She passed peacefully at 95 - in Jun 2017 - but today happens to be her 102....!!

@@20augustine1 there are places like this. In England, in Netherlands even cleaner and impeccablw than this one. honey. Are you sure you have been there. Fyi this neighboorhod is a copy of an English village built in 1910 Thats why you see that Tudor! Georgian architecture typically British American houses at the end of the day are. A mix of European architecture style.

This looks like the suburbs in Melbourne VICTORIA Australia where it’s very green & the streets are full of trees beautiful older homes very expensive area, like anywhere in the world where there is money ,there are beautiful homes lovely streets with beautiful trees 🌴 the world is the same everywhere unless you go to underdeveloped countries . So money education & ambition can be created everywhere in countries that allow you to have opportunities ,if you try hard work hard or just have old money passed down there is beauty where there is $$$$$$ signs . It’s not only AMERICA .

Take the " E " train get out either Continental Ave station and walk around or Forrest Hill station and walk around. On a beautiful clear day with a breeze you will think you are on vacation / holiday. Best time after rush hour 8am to 9am . Plenty of places for good food for lunch a little pricey, but, you'll enjoy it. P.S. Forgot to mention leave before rush hour after 4pm.
