Experience Angola with me! I went to Angola for a two day wedding. I stayed in Kilamba, Angola in Hotel Victoria Garden.
Please keep in mind that my opinions are only based on my time in Luanda, Angola .... not the entire country of Angola. I did not travel outside of Luanda. So if you travel to the city of Luanda, Angola, you may or may not have the same experience.
The first part shows the traditional wedding. Watch the second part to see the white wedding!

I understand maybe you are not a great traveller. Don't go to any country in the world and expect to see what you have in the US. Mostly leave the colonial mentality, looking down at every places you go to. Every place is unique and has its uniqueness. What the point of you travelling to different places and expect to find your country there. Ever asked what angolans go through to get a US tourist visa? I've travelled throough out the US and been robbed inthe street sometimes, I have been warned not to go to some places in some US cities because it was too dangerous. I was in hotels where we did not have running water for hours and in some nice hotels in the US. We have very nice hotels and very good things to do in Angola, I understand that may be you were limited by your budget, but that doesn't mean there is no good hotels there nor anything good to do. Luanda is ranked among the most expensive cities for foreigners in the world. To get the best of it you have to be financially prepared. So many tourists from all over the world visit Angola and have a very different opinion from yours. Angola is just an African country like any other African country, different from the US, but Angolan are happier people. If you come with higher expectations anywhere in Africa, sorry you will always be disappointed. Thank God, not all Americans have such an opinion as yours towards other countries. My advice is that don't just visit other people's countries to look for things you will find in your country, but go in order to discover what is unique about the place.

Thanks for the comment. I am well traveled :) My perspective is simply mine....no one else's. I value individual thought and expression. This is based on MY experience and short time in the country. I'm sure it would have been different if I spent more time in the country

@@jessiecharlene240 you have to go again to my country but next time try to hire a guide for a better experience. Look like you just gone there to the wedding so you kinda didn’t have enough time to really search for things that you could do or even discover the country and based on this maybe your judgement/opinions about the country are very superficial. U can’t really judge a country based on your experience in one hotel and then in a wedding ceremony. Hope you have a better experience next time

Thanks for your response. I watched your video on Ethiopia and you kept on using the term:” third world country”, that is a derogatory term that we don’t like in Africa. Looking at you, you are just not different from any girl that I would meet in the streets of Adis , Nairobi, Luanda or Johannesburg. You look just like one of us but I’m disappointed that you look down at African countries. At least for once you can walk anywhere in Angola and no one will ever judge you by the Color of your skin. In Angola you belong to the majority, that fact only should make you happy to be there unlike the way they would treat you in some places in the US. Maybe we don’t have what you guys have in the US, but in Africa, you will get the respect that you deserve just by being who you are , not how you look like, from the smallest village to the biggest city, That fact alone makes the difference between your country and Africa. I love the US for the fact that it is not like Africa, I believe you guys should also love Africa for the fact that it is different from the US . If every place was just like everywhere, the world would be a boring place to be. The Colors, the differences make our world exciting. Next time you would like to see more of Angola, let me know , I can arrange for you to enjoy your stay. Sorry for the way you were treated at that hotel and by the store attendant but that doesn’t represent Angola.

You can be taken advantage anywhere especially when they know you are a foreigner .. Angola is such a beautiful place and has so much to do ... you probably didn't get enough time to actually see everything or have different places to explore. Don't let 1 or 2 things judge the country as a whole. Even the hotel you are in is quite far from the city so you haven't even seen anything . There is so much to do, this video is making me so sad! Whenever I have gone or take my friends from different countries , they never want to leave .. and please its Angolan not Angolian 🥴😅

She's from Angola and he's from Nigeria. So, they are celebrating both of their cultures. I think they did that on purpose.

Thank you for sharing your opinion about Angola. Allow me to just say what I feel about it. First of all I am so in love with this country & the culture out there so I had to respond to this. Girl, you went there in Covid time so of course as everywhere everything was on pause there. You also didn’t make the effort to understand their history or to look for interesting things to do. So how do you think you gonna have an opinion about the country of you didn’t even tried to know actually the country ? Also, when you travel to a country you can’t compare that to yours. Every country is different. You need to embrace differences, that’s what it make it special. If you want to found the same thing than us, better to stay there … I can also send one of the many video where they advice you about the many stuff to do there and hope it gonna help you to see the country on different eyes and to have just a little consideration for that great country that Angola is. Vidéo : kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoikkqOuYtKsebM. Also about the prices, of course like in many African and European countries If you are a foreigner they will try to charge you more especially if you are staying at luxurious hotel. About the food, if you just made the effort to look about typical restaurant you would find very affordable place with an authentic kitchen and a very good price. Like all things, you just need to make an effort and you will have good times …

I lived in Angola for 6 yrs. 4 in Cabinda and my last 2 in Luanda. As for Cabinda, everything was priced low. Luanda and hotels are always expensive. I always went to small neighborhood stores or small grills to find something to eat but I speak Portuguese and Spanish.

Yes, It was a process. I'm not sure if the process is the same for every foreigner, but I had to know someone personally who then had to provide two types of invitations (I went for a wedding). She had to get the letters notarized in Angola and had to write a personal letter explaining where my husband and I would stay for our time there. I had to get a visa which took about 2 months and cost about 100 bucks, I also had to get the yellow fever vaccination, COVID tests, provide bank statements that showed I had a certain amount saved based on the amount of time I planned to stay in the country. I had to have my flight booked and provide the itinerary. I think that's it. It was kind of a lengthy process to get there, but it was worth it! You should try to get a visa! They definitely do not allow anyone to enter the country. lol 🤣
