Really sorry guys, but for some reason this has uploaded in 480 instead of 1080. After we release part 2, we will release them together as one long vlog in 1080p. Going to blame it on the witches, first my laptop broke for the first time editing this so got delayed releasing this and now this 😂

As a historical context to these “witches”, prior to the Spanish conquests, the healers of the people are women called “babaylan/catalonan”. When the Spanish came, the Catholic friars demonized these healers as witches in order to facilitate the acceptance of the Filipinos of Catholicism. Looking forward to Part 2.
@DougMcTitties69694 ай бұрын
I remember my RPH Professor said that the early Filipinos favored the friars due to their superior supernatural power cuz they displayed supernatural abilities that surpasses their native healers. It is because of the “Man of Prowess” culture of the Filipinos, the more supernatural abilities you show the more you prove yourself to be the leader. The early Filipinos willingly submit themselves to the friars because of that.

Albularyo. (AL-BOO-LAR-YO) faith healer. Its exist since pre-colonial times. They do perform healing, exorcism, massage (HILOT) and bewitching (KULAM) . it exist mostly in a remote area in the whole Philippines especially those places where medical services are not accessible. Sometimes rural settlers would rather see the albularyo than the doctors. It is cheaper for them.
@atengvolley57496 жыл бұрын
Michael Roxas ... or quack doctors, let me just add. Remote areas in d phils don't hav quick access to professional doctors so residents resort to these healers who practically learned from their oldies who heal on a trial-&-error method. Btw... i luuuuuv syquijor even if i haven't been there. As soon as i can afford, it's my first go-to ❤️

Yeah. Names have power so if any of them gives their name and admit they're a witch they can expect _a few asshole witches_ to take advantage of this. A good rule of thumb for any witch: Keep quiet and practice.

In Bohol (where my parents are from), blowing smoke (using a Tobacco leaf) on one's back is a traditional way of healing people from his/her tummy discomfort, fever, sprain, and other pains one might be feeling in his/her body. We call it "Buhot". I think healers also use that style of healing to drive away negative energy/bad spirits wished upon a person by another ("Gibuyagan").

I went to Siquijor a few years ago and i still remember, upon arriving in the tiny port I felt chills (in a good way). The water in the port was so clear and turquoise even though the weather was super gloomy. It really felt magical!! I really felt that there was some sort of spiritual being/energy surrounding the island. Siquijor is so beautiful and underrated. Thanks for making this video! I know for sure to go back and learn more about the witches. My great grandfather was a healer but sadly he passed away before I could learn more about his gift.

Their power is inherited to them, and it will to generation to generation. The power can cure but there's a bad side, if someone appears in their dreams (even someone close to them) they have no choice but to do something bad to that person, otherwise it will make them weak or they get sick.
@deathmare4565 жыл бұрын
It depends
@nyxstart86424 жыл бұрын
Not really that accurate. There’s something called being a “generational witch”.Witchcraft is a practice and anyone can get into it. Every witch practices differently and saying that they have NO CHOICE but to harm someone or they’ll get weak or sick is not true at all.

This feels like I am watching a Blair Witch Project type of movie. With the home video camera and the actors did something foolish and then everything went wrong, creepy and scary. Hahahaha. Always stay safe you two. Love the both of you. BTW, there are really scary stories about witches or "mangkukulam" as we call it Filipino in Siquijor. There is a worse kind of witch and we call them "mambabarang". This type of witch will put curse on you and all sort of crawling insects, worms and bugs will get out of your body like in your mouth, ears, nose and sometimes there are inside your skin. There is also a mythical creature from urban legend known as "Aswang", that according to the legend, they originated from Siquijor. They are shapeshifters. They devour human organs like liver, heart, intestines. It scared the sh*t out of me when I was little. Anyway, it was nice to see a new video from you guys.

Witches are very common in Philippines. Our country people who commonly grew or as we speak of "tubong pilipino" aren't freaked out because it's part of our culture, such as traditional healers like an "albulariyo" or a traditional witch "mangkukulam". I personally respect these people because they were part of our history. I was even blessed and naturally born with a third eye, so maybe my ancestor was a witch. All in all, Filipino witchcraft is creepy (I swear, in colonial times, dark magick was everywhere), but I don't mind visiting a witchcraft woman to aid me.

Wow this a great video. I loved it very much. Thanks for sharing this because I am also curious about them. I am a Filipino too and a hereditary witch. I need to learn more about them. But my parents forbid me to go their because someone told me they're much more powerful witches.

Oh wow, how interesting! From reading the comments, it appears that the person we saw was actually a healer and that there are witches on the island too! Thanks for watching.. so glad you enjoyed it :)

Yes, it's one of our folklore and legends here. Even me, I used to believed them because I had once a friend of mine who was a healer and she was a white witch that knows how to to speak Latin while she was performing a ritual on me when I was infected by the said bad elements here. I was healed. But now she stop doing that because something happens to her. She uses her healing power and take advantage of it. One time I came to her and ask about those kind of stuffs,she refuses me already. I am aware of the witches their because my parents told me about their curses and "Kulam".

Witches in Siquijor recently eradicates the stigma of calling themselves as such since they really do perform great works of healing as well as destruction. But today, they wanted to renew such image. Most of the great Witches and Healers comes from Siquijor. So do not mess around with them. Such old & creepy stories bring a lot of enchantment & attraction to dat small island.
