About John Chau's story, there are many reasons why this island is off limits and a major one is to protect its inhabitants against common diseases from which they are not immune and because of which they saw their numbers dwindle in the past and might not still have recovered from yet. Whether Chau deserved to die or not might be up for debate but what is not, is the right of the islanders to protect themselves from anything endangering their lives, above all else

John Chau had sufficient warnings and objection, yet he pursued his “mission”. In my opinion, his death was the consequence of his insistence. It may seem horrible because of murder, but all of the red flags were presented as warnings, but John didn’t care. It’s like having the Jehovah’s Witness, persistently knocking on your door. Not a lot of people want someone preaching, especially when they’re culture doesn’t involve such “rude” behavior.

there's no justice to seek with john's case. he doesn't get much sympathy because he was forcing something to endangered people he doesn't even know. therefore, disrespecting them. he knew well what he was getting into that he even left his family and admitted to not listening to their wishes. tragic, yes. but he is an adult and is fully responsible for his own actions. he was even given two chances by the tribe but he didn't listen and ultimately, provoked them. hope he rests in peace though and his family will be alright.

Justice, unfortunately, will not come to these unfortunate victims. Shanquella, maybe but the others, definitely not, sadly. Thailand's law enforcement is way too lax when it comes to investigations and policing. As for John Allen Chau, on one hand, he brought it upon himself for going to an isolated indigenous island with a holier-than-thou attitude toward the inhabitants and thinking he could force his beliefs on them, hence the lack of sympathy or shock about his fate, and on the other hand, the missionary organization should be held accountable for not doing enough to stop him and taking him to the island in the first place. Moral of the story: plan your trips with thorough research, learn the languages and cultural etiquette because phrases and gestures that are normal and endearing in your home country may come off as offensive and threatening in another country, be sure to befriend someone who can act as your guide before you travel to your destination, and ALWAYS be polite.

Christianity invented almost all the ways of social assistance that there are today, since the beginning of Christianity they where famous for helping the poor, the needy, the widows, the ill, the fatherless kids, and specialy for preaching the gospel. All of the first hospitals, schools, universities, settlements in the New world where managed by Missionaries, and after building so much good you call them harmfull ? Your are crazy and ignorant. You may think that they are fools, but thats because you dont believe that there is a life after this one where you will be judged severely. If you knew that there is a life after death and that it is eternal, you would not even debate the fact that their effort is crucial for the salvation of souls. Through out history all the Christians have always strived for extending the kingdome of God, its only in these times full of selfishness, materialism, relativism and atheism that we've come by with an abundance of people who are so well-off accomodated in their confort zone that wouldnt even move a finger for Jesus, and let alone risk their lifes for anything. I am not saying that those tourists disrespected the locals, but that was very likely. I mean, he knew that it was a stupid idea and yet he still went over there and insinuated in a extremely pompous manner that the way those people have been living for who knows how long, really, are totally wrong in whatever beliefs they may have and that bc an American guy says so.... And I'm old as hell but if I recall correctly, Robinson Crusoe was NOT about bringing any word of God or anything like that.... Instead it's about a young guy who goes against his parents wishes and takes a voyage out to sea.... And it was during the time when we haven't discovered crap pretty much.... Not to mention, that there's a huge controversial part where he encounters some tribesmen that he was calling savages and pissing them off by crapping on the way they have lived and existed for Lord knows how long.... Smfh..... It sucks that it happened to him or if it does to anyone at all but stupidity is supposed to hurt so...... Yeah.

I understand that the second guy felt like “it was something God would have wanted” but he put SO SO SO many people in danger. As an Indigenous person myself i know for a FACT first of all that most Indigenous tribes ALREADY have their own religious values, beliefs and systems. As an Indigenous Australian (Aboriginal woman descended from the Gamilaroi and Awabakal tribes) I know that we as a people had our own dream time and stories especially about the Rainbow Serpent. You don’t just go to an Island full of natives and try and convert them to Christianity - a religion they don’t even KNOW exists. It’s stupid and it’s EXACTLY what the white man did to natives in Australia, the America’s and other parts of the world. Secondly, they’re an undisturbed tribe. THEY DON’T HAVE ACCESS TO MODERN MEDICINE NOR VACCINATIONS AGAINST DISEASES. This is how you kill a whole nation! Hell when the white man came and colonised Australia A LOT OF PEOPLE DIED, especially from foreign diseases that they were not used to. In conclusion, don’t, and i repeat DO NOT go to an undisturbed tribe of natives and try and convert them to your religion. You shouldn’t be FORCING religion on anyone PERIOD. Let them believe and do as they wish, and you do whatever you want - but from afar.

I don’t believe they were tortured, if true why would you openly say that while still being locked up where the ppl you’re accusing could harm you again for telling.

Unpopular opinion: this is a religious survival of the fittest. Can we stop discussing the stupidity of this story? No one deserves to die, nature took its course.

Why are they muting the words “kill” “stab” “shot” etc. it’s kinda stupid and annoying
@pwuddingchan Жыл бұрын
KZbin rules and regulations, the words have to be muted if they don't want thr video to get taken down

Paradise is supposed to be fun! Not scary! This is a shame right here, killed innocent travelers while they were having a good time.

I am guessing most of the viewers are under forty. It seems millennials have a need to correct everyone. It boarders on bullying. The conceited arrogance is rather amusing in light of the grammatical errors and misspellings in the posts while correcting others. I know my post is fraught with mistakes. But I am not so petty as to point out anothers mispronunciations! Manners and etiquette are apparently a ghost of the past.

So hard to listen to a story that bleeps out words that aren’t even cuss words/vulgar/anything. They’re words in the dictionary that you can’t use bc what? They may trigger some people? This whole video is about murder and rape don’t know why anyone would watch it. That knows they could be triggered by it and if so, that’s not your problem?
