Filipino friendliness with the westerners has to do with their white-skin preference and being a former colony of the US. In the long past kids myself included thought all white people are Americans and we'd say "Hi Joe!" to them, Joe I later learned was how they were called during WW II. Also, McArthur liberated us from the Japanese. One more, Americans though not all, generally wouldn't smirk at gross-looking foreign foods like some of ours. Filipinos on the other hand, wouldn't ever try bagong--had it not been their own food. Cheers for for being adventurous.

You need to go to Zamboanga where Chavacano is spoken. Chavacano is a Spanish based Creole language. Your Spanish is good enough that you’ll be able to speak to native Chavacano speakers. Zamboanga should also make some great KZbin episodes. Enjoy the Philippines!

You don't have to convince me. I've been to the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia. I love my Singaporean friends. They are so polite. But you just can't beat the friendliness of the people of the Philippines. I've worked with Filipinos here in the US for almost 40 years and it's more than them being just friendly. I seem to identify with them so closely. I'm glad you found your life there in the PI.

I grew up in the Phils, the first time I went to visit another country, I was not expecting the people to be so quiet and reserved and seem cold as I was expecting the locals to be like Filipinos who seem to be always laughing and having a good time. I thought there was a problem with that country until i went to visit 10 more countries and I noticed the same vibe and I realized that there’s nothing wrong with them, it’s just that back home pinoys are culturally laid back and as we call it in tagalog, “kalog”. But I must admit i cringle when i see pinoys abroad and they're noisy as hell in public transpos lol

@@travelescapesOFFICIAL BEST TOURIST SPOTS IN BALABAC, PALAWAN, PHILIPPINES (Check it out in KZbin) Hello my friend I highly recommend to explore Balabac, Palawan especially Mansalangan Sandbar, Punta Sebaring Beach & visit Onok Island. There is a direct flight from Manila going to Puerto Princesa City. Afterwards, you can take van from Puerto Princesa Bus Terminal going to Rio Tuba Port & then from Rio Tuba Port going to Balabac, Palawan. 1. Visit Punta Sebaring Beach & Bugsuk Island, lies at the south portion of Bugsuk Island which nestles two dreamy white sand bars; Punta Sebaring 1 & Punta Sebaring 2. 2. Explore Onok Island or Roughton Island in Balabac, Palawan. It is often the most hailed & talked about among all Islands in Balabac. The island is engulfed with white, floury sands that extends to a 5 meters wide reef where sighting of sea turtles & pink dolphins awaits. 3. See & Swim in Ursula Island, it is located near Rio Tuba, Bataraza, Palawan. 4. Discover Mansalangan Sandbar in Balabac, Palawan. It is one of the longest sandbar in the Philippines quite a fascinating hallmark that teases visitors of it's stunning charm. 5. Visit Indalawan Falls & Indalawan Beach in Balabac, Palawan 6. Hi, I really love your videos and it's nice you appreciate Filipino values. Actually, as you experience Philippines, you'll see that people are always happy even they dont have so much. They will offer you what they have no matter how little they have. They value family and their loveones so much, they appreciate every single thing. That's the reason we Filipinos are very resilient with problems, tragedy, struggles in life, typhoon, any obstacle, name it. It is because, for us, we're not after with material things. Yes, we love to have beautiful life, nice to have enuf money, but again those are just a "bonus" to have. For us, we are rich because of our Faith with God and rich because we have our family, our friends, our loveones. Those things are our treasures which cant be wiped out by any typhoon or floods. We find wealth through the spirit that we have innate, the good vibes, the happines from within, the gratefulness in everything be it good or bad situation. We have problems but for us it's okay coz we can get thru all of that because we believe we are not alone, that we have God and we have each other[friends, family] to rely on. Try to search net and you'll see filipinos smiling, playing basketball in midst of typhoon, floods, and etc. As they say, filipino spirit is waterproof. I know that my comment is too long, but I really just want to express how proud I am to be a filipino and nice to know that you're experiencing real pinoy vibes. ❣️❣️❣️

I'm from the Philippines and to be honest, i'm the type of person who asks other people for directions since i'm not very good with it. So by the time that i wen to a different country, Australia to be specific, i forgot that people's culture are very very different from one another so when i asked a local from Sydney about directions like where this place is, the local answered me with "you have Google Maps, right?" then proceeded to turn the different way. I was so caught off guard since i'm used to Filipinos just helping me to the best that they can to point me in the right direction. Though i get it that we have different cultures. lol but yea, born and raised in the PH and will forever be proud of how approachable and kind people are here. :)

It’s very peculiar because if you ask me why Filipinos are warm and friendly, I always say it’s because we grew up in such dire conditions that our tolerance for suffering is dialled all the way up which makes us appreciate the smallest things in life like friends, families, and building connections. But the thing is, there are so many other countries in the world that are the same as us and some even in worse situations but there’s still something different that sets the Filipinos apart. It really is very strange but also very fortunate.

Wow as a FIlipino American, with my family originally from the visayas, I went to school there one time and I understand why my family wants to go back. Not only they do speak English, you can very much feel how FREEEE it is. That's why I love being Filipino. We really know how to be vibrant and be free, including the way people drive, there are no rules haha. Yes, I am happy to be an American, but you can definitely feel the difference, and I sometimes feel enclosed by how stressed Americans are. I miss it so much and I want that feeling again. BTW, i was so shocked that you actually filmed someone in your video that I went to school with LOL

You MUST take a tour on pumpboat to do some Island Hopping. Visiting the small uninhabited Islands, where you hear nothing but the Water rolling to the shore, and feeding Fish with bread from your hands is an awesome experience. Was there in 2003, can see a lot has changed. Not the frequent "brown outs", though. That's annoying!

Major reasons I think for our cheerful spirit: 1. Family- we try to stay close and celebrate birthdays, weddings, fiestas, etc. We care and look for one another. 2. Love for singing ( videoke)- even if not pitch perfect, we always sing during parties and family get-togethers. 3. Sunlight- helps in Vit. D absorption and producing the happy hormones 😀. 4. There’s also our deep and abiding faith in a Supreme Being who cares for us as well.

Wonderful video man. You earned yourself a subscriber. You have inspired me. I love to play and sing, and I'm really good at it. I think I'd have a blast doing that with these people. There is now a guitar that has no sounding body. Instead it has an amplifier and speakers. The guitar is and electric/acoustic. It has a wireless microphone and accepts input from my phone, via bluetooth. These are the kind of people I would love wandering among and singing with.

I truly loved watching this video, and I really appreciate your brining us your travels. You captured the heart of the Filipino people, their friendly, open and honest ways. You have a very approachable face and mannerisms, which I would guess are magnified by your interactions with the incredibly happy people you filmed. You certainly don't get that in the States. It makes me want to get there tomorrow!

we are happy to learn you feel happy hanging out w/ us filipino. we typically look at life positively regardless of what is thrown at us. we too, though, are also human. we feel down at times but what can you do, there is always a curve ball going your way. just live your life as you want it to be.
