i was in philippines including siargao late april/late may & it was awesome.out of all the places i went siquijor,bohol/panglao & siargao were my fav. i always motorbike around. i went too those pools & saw that coconut forest view.also saw that man-made forest in bohol which was beautiful..i was at those pools in siargao late morning with a ton of ppl mostly locals & we all had fun jumping off that big rock into that one really deep pool. also tried calamansi juice 4 first time and it was cold & delish & cheap too..but that coco juice they sell on the side of the road is unreal good with those chunks of coconut in there.

Cockfighting or "sabong" in Tagalog has been part of the Philippines since the Spanish colonial times. So it's been embedded into the culture. As much as everyone hates it, it's been part of us since the beginning.

I think that "weapon" is for agricultural purposes? Hehehe it's quite a common sight in the provinces. Kids holding bolo to cut grass or fruit trees hahaha
@GlittersBlaze2 ай бұрын
Don't misunderstood, that kid probably have that “hatchet” (or bolo in some term) because it is used to cut woods. The time you met them is around the time that kids like them gathers or assembles to go to a nearby mountain or hill to gather and bring firewood down to their house. It's a fun time of the youth, well at least for me haha Edit: It's pretty safe and they don't venture that far. Also, most of the time, they have adults with them. They only took dry/fallen woods, we have laws after all-dunno if the law's applicable in that part of the country
@matthewtagapulot808124 күн бұрын
Also don’t worry about the kids…most kids in Philippines are so playful and likes talking to people specially on foreigners they really ask to many questions not just on foreigners from abroad but people that are not from their place even if your also a Filipino.And they are very rascals but they r not dangerous for sure…

Cockfighting is not only in the Philippines, I believe it is commonly found throughout the Southeast Asian region, including here in Indonesia. Cockfighting in my country has also been a culture in society since ancient times, but since our government banned all forms of gambling for good in the early 70s, cockfighting has slowly disappeared itself from the culture of our society. Of all regions in Indonesia, only Bali still legalizes cockfighting because the local government insists that it is their culture that must be preserved, and guarantees that it no longer involves gambling in it, but still gambling is still often found..
