They've done a great job of the campsite. Enjoyed camping there. Would like to go back to Hwange outside of the rainy season.

My husband and I were giggling about how Zimbabwe doesn’t necessarily always have power. Just like Texas where we live. Too hot? Grid fails. Too cold? Grid fails. We have solar backup for a few things outside of Houston, energy capital of the US. 🤣
@TravelGigolo2 жыл бұрын
Now that is surprising! Well I guess Zim and Texas have something in common 😄😄😄

Looks good. Impressive ablutions. Pity there are few tourists.

Great campsite! I think it will be more popular in the dry season. The game viewing is better and it's not as hot.

Great!!! Thanks so much :) what are the police check points like? Are they always asking for things, money, water, sweets, “anything for me bwana”? Maybe you can tell us more about the road and police check points.
@TravelGigolo2 жыл бұрын
Very nice camp site. Actually we didn't have many situations like that with the police. In general we were waved through most check points except one which you saw in one of the previous episodes. We were stopped occasionally and asked for the permit for the vehicle.

Enjoyed very much. But my big question which you never came to was. How much does it cost? I know prices go up but you could have given the date. Gives some idea at least !!😁😁❤️
@TravelGigolo Жыл бұрын
We'll be making a conserted effort to add pricing in all our campsite reviews from next year onward. A number of people have requested this. Robin's Camp, for camping in December 2021, excluding Hwange conservation & vehicle fees, was $40 per campsite per night (we were 2 people). I forget whether there were different rates based local, SADC, and international visitors.

Extremely helpful, thank you. We last camped there in 2012. Nice to see they've upgraded the ablutions. Did you book directly with ZimParks?
@TravelGigolo2 жыл бұрын
We booked directly with Robins camp. Our interactions with ZimParks were at Matetsi gate and then at the parks office adjacent to Robins for our park fees. Glad the video is helpful 👍🏾

How far does the Mophane trees goes in Zim just curious, from Botswana,was there any in Gweru?
@TravelGigolo2 жыл бұрын
There are mopane tree across most of the low altitude parts of the country. So you will find Mopane trees all around the country, with less in the middle. Mopane are not common around Gweru.
