The private picnic spot, The Elephant Waterhole, is also a great place to go camping. We saw a lot from the campsite during our 5 day stay there in the beginning of January. The owners are also very welcoming and friendly. The pool is perfect for a dip in the hot summer months.

I hope people take care with the fires and cigarette smokers even more by that amount of dry grass and wood it would be realy bad to destroy such nice place with a wild fire

Bush fires are a big problem here especially in august when it is dry and windy.

Not always bad, some bush fires are part of the natural cycle. Actually there are some plants that require bushfire to germinate (pyrophytic plants such as the king protea in SA). However fires started by people can be very damaging to the environment.

with smoking banned it shouldnt be a problem, never knew it was so close to Pta, but we never go that direction.

Definitely worth a visit, especially now with travel limitations.
