I visited dalma 2nd time on 21st December with family but stuck for nights due to heavy winds and rough sea. But we converted this with full enjoyment

Hi Kishoba. The only place where I am glad we had and our all-wheel-drive vehicle (Honda CRV) was when we drove up the “mountain” road. Other than that, you don’t need a 4WD. The beach where we camped was a nice hard pack so it was easy to drive on.

We were solo travelers back in the day! If kids are in your future, it definitely doesn't have to an end to your travels. We've enjoyed taking our kids through Nepal, Vietnam, India, just to name a few places. Hopefully, we will all be traveling soon!

Thank you so much! Where we camped, way out on the left side of the island, there are no accessible restrooms. The beach was very private, so peeing was no big deal. We used the restrooms in town for our, "other needs." :-)

Hi Dana. I hope you enjoy your trip! We did not do any advanced reservations. However, I believe you could reserve your vehicle on the ferry in advance. We did not do this, and had no trouble getting on the boat.

That 'white shell like' is cuttlebone. Used for budgies etc to sharpen their beaks. Gorgeous family, great trip, Hoping you are safe somewhere during this horrid virus period. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuttlebone I also see you discovered the (pourus) pumice stone. Good to use to 'sand off' the callus on the heals off the feet. How special waking up like that on the beach. Loved the video.

Are you back at home or still roaming the gloaming, as they say? I don't know where you've been but Europe is so large there is so much diversity one could stay on this continent for a year and not have 'seen it all'. As far as I’m aware, Dalma island is open for visiting and camping. It is a beautiful place, and we had a fantastic visit. I would definitely camp at the same spot again (which was to the left/west beachfront. It was absolutely spectacular, and the water was gorgeous.

We stayed 2 nights and 3 days. The only major expense was the ferry ride, because the camping was free! The grocery store and restaurants were reasonably price. If you decide to visit, I'm sure you will love the experience!

I’m not totally sure about the fishing rules for tourists, but there is an excellent fish market near the port! Dalma Island has a long history as a fishing community. 🎣
