I'd say limit their sugary snacks and beverages. I have nieces and nephews who liked veggies and all kind of fruits until they got a bit bigger and became picky eaters. They stopped appreciating natural taste. Happened to me the opposite way. I appreciate natural tastes of food more after I limit my sugary snacks and beverages.

Why do I love Indonesia? This is informations. You know, Mother Nature in this country is the mastermind behind major natural disasters that can hit many countries and cause many fatalities, not just 1 or 100 times, but more than that. Example : Tsunami 2004 start from Indonesia impact 20 countries (To Africa). When I was a teenager, at the high school level I always studied and read books about nature in a library located in Europe. I found a book that said "Tambora The Years Without Summer" then also found a book that said "Krakatoa". Both of these books tell about nature and its brutality at the same time. Not only that, in the book it is explained that the incident is located in 1 country but in different regions. Was it the only tragedy that was written by the International? No, there is a lot of history of major natural disasters in Indonesia that are written internationally. I have to be honest when talking about Indonesia, without many people realizing that nature in Indonesia is also very cruel, often raging, abnormal and brutal. Total natural disasters in Indonesia (8 Years Calculation) : >Year 2022 = 1.421 (Period Jan - Jun). >Year 2021 = 3,058 >Year 2020 = 2,925 >Year 2019 = 9,375 >Year 2018 = 3,397 >Year 2017 = 2,341 >Year 2016 = 2,342 >Year 2015 = 1,682 Total natural disasters for 8 years = 26.541 (This is the most violent, brutal and deadly category in the world because of calculations in 1 country, not Chile/Japan). I became very interested in the history recorded by the International and finally I bought a textbook on natural disasters in Indonesia written by European researchers, scientists and historians. It turned out to be much more amazing, that's when I fell in love with nature in Indonesia. This is not only about beauty but also about history which has a huge impact on many countries in the world. Nature in Indonesia is not only beautiful, but also very unique, different, diverse, strange and great. But on the other hand it is also deadly, brutal, often occurs, many casualties and is written in European history. If you know all the volcanoes, rivers, lakes, caves, waterfalls, beaches, mountains, rice fields, forests, wastelands and others in Indonesia (Nature), the nature is very insane. For me personally, a visit to Indonesia is the most memorable for me because I have visited 51 natural tourist attractions. List of natural tourist attractions in Indonesia that I have visited. 1). Krakatoa. (My favorite volcanoes). 2). Tambora. 3). Aceh Museum Tsunami 2004. 4). Weh Island. 5). Lematang Lampung. 6). Ranau. 7). Anyer. 8). Ujung Kulon. 9). Lancang Island Jakarta. 10). Rian North Kalimantan. 11). Yellow Land. (I forgot this name). 12). Mesas Cave. 13). Gamalama. 14). Sulamadaha. 15). Ngurtafur. 16). Kupang. 17). Bali Island. 18). Karang Bolong. 19). Therefore, many people misunderstand tourism in Indonesia because it is too much and varied. Then you will find something unique and strange, at least go on 30 different trips to tourist attractions in Indonesia and I am sure you will have a much more extraordinary experience and lasting memories. Did you know if we look at the map of the Indonesia territory, it's like a person / Jinn who sleeps on his back. Sumatra : Feet. Kalimantan : Stomach. Jawa, Bali, Nusa Tenggara : Spine. Sulawesi : Bosom. Maluku : Neck. Papua : Head. Other small islands : Acne. Not only that, Indonesia has more than 500 volcanoes = Active, inactive and underwater. (Overall). QUEEN MOTHER NATURE IN INDONESIA 10/10 (Mother Nature in Indonesia when viewed 100% is very colossal). Nature in Indonesia is really insane very different class categories, there is a saying that says : (Indonesia is the throne Queen Mother Nature). There is even a study that has visited 400 tourist attractions in Indonesia and it is only 10% for him. From Sabang Sumatera to Merauke Papua (in 1 country) is expensive and long distance. I noticed your wife is vegetarian and wanted to recommend a few dishes that are served at nearly all restaurants in Indonesia. Tahu (tofu) goreng (fried) and also tempeh. Very delicious in Indo cuisine. Also I noticed you seem to like peanut sauce so I'm sure by now you have tried gado-gado but if not definitely try it! Also karedok and ketoprak are different versions of similiar vegetarian dishes. Although they come spicy so ask for less or not spicy when you order! I'm still watching all your videos so I don't know what all you guys have tried yet. Also highly recommend es teler (it's a sort of dessert/drink with mixed fruits and decliousness) Happy eating!

You should also try Coto Makassar (beef peanut soup). It is one of the most delicious local culinary in Indonesia. Enjoy your stay in Makassar. You're always welcomed.

Otak-otak is the fish paste covered with banana leafs then it is grilled. Sate Ayam/chicken sate with peanut sauce. The hot soy sauce is usually for fish grilled.

Belajar Bahasa Indonesia : Udang = Shrimp / Prawn. Udang Goreng = Fried Shrimp. Ayam Goreng = Fried Chicken. Sate Ayam = Chicken Satay. Selamat Pagi = Good Morning. Selamat Siang = Good Afternoon. Selamat Sore = Good Evening. Selamat Malam = Good Night. Actually "Selamat" mean "Safe", but usually we use "Aman" for "Safe". Because in Indonesia "Selamat" use as greeting too. Selamat Belajar. :-)

I LOVE sampling unknown food Some vegetarian options that are available in almost all restaurant: Tahu (tofu) goreng (fried), bakar (grilled) Tempe (soybean cake) Sayur (vegetable): terong (eggplant/aubergines), kangkung (morning glory) kailan, toge or tauge (bean sprout) You can ask for Tumis (stirfry), goreng (fried), bakar (grilled). Safest is garlic (bawang putih) stirfry or tumis bawang putih otherwise it will have some anchovies/ebi/prawn Dishes Gado gado Karedok (similar to gado2 but raw veg) Ketoprak (fried tofu, rice bean cake in peanut sauce) -- Jakarta dish Have fun

Losari beach at night time usually full of people and i'm quite surprised to see it that dark 😂. Also i'd suggest you to visit the cpi (central point) its not far from the losari beach and the scenery is so beautiful too (would be nice to see you take a walk with you fam there). Hope u enjoy your time in my beautiful city Makassar & lastly have a safe trip ☺️.
