From the moment we step off the plane, all we can think about is food! This video shows how we get from the Kualanamu Airport (Medan, Sumatra) to the Swiss-Belinnl: Planes, Trains, and on foot! Along the way, we find fast food, street treats, and cengmi ayam babi (noodle soup). We love finding street food and signature dishes, and we look forward to exploring more culinary options in Medan. We spend the next few days at the Swiss-Belinn, which we chose because it is within walking distance of the airport train and popular street food.

We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, eight years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family. We hope that our travels will inspire and provide our children with the confidence to meet new people, try new foods, and enjoy learning a new language. As far as I know, in Indonesia, beggars, homeless people and even homeless people are immediately taken by the state social services. If there is, someone will reports it to social services. If it is indeed a beggar I hope someone will report it
