I honestly hope you didn’t decide to go to Lefkada. The reason is that the island needs at least 5 days for a proper tour. Going there for a few hours will not do it any justice. It has some of the most spectacular beaches of the whole of the Mediterranean, plus a nice main town, plus some mountain villages, plus some other cool seaside villages. As for Parga, you have no idea about what happens there in August, what was more or less empty space during your visit is beyond packed. Now that the weather is proper greek weather again, I am curious to see what island you chose to go to after your return to Athens.

Since you never been in Lefkada, it is a good opportunity now, it is close to you and you don't need a ferry to go, just by car. 2 days in Parga, 2-3 days in Lefkada, if it's ok with your schedule and plans.😊😊😊

The sign read: "The castle was built by Ali Pasha of Ioannina during the period of the siege of Parga in 1814, with the visit of the Italian engineer Monteleone. The castle preserves almost its entire internal configuration (underground tanks, guard apartments, climbing ramps, powder magazine).On the upper surface of the tower, the cannons of the fort (mainly of Russian and English origin) are preserved." Also, apart from Sivota in Thesrpotia, there is also Sivota in Lefkada, which is a settlement in a fjord.

Pedantry corner: Ive heard Gabe say this a couple of times now: Not every ancient theatre is an amphitheatre. Amphi means "around" so only a theatre with seating all around the stage is called that. So the Colloseum in Rome for example would be an amphitheatre. A theatre with seats in the shape of half a circle, as most ancient Greek onces have, is just called a theatre. For plays an amphi theatre would be of course very unsuitable because half the crowd would be facing the backs of the actors. So its more used in Roman times for Gladiator fights and chariot races, things like that, which can be viewed from any angle, just like modern day sports stadiums vs a cinema style setup basically.
@GabrielTravelerVideos5 ай бұрын
When I say amphitheater it's in reference to the word amphibian, so it's where frogs and salamanders like to watch movies. 😛✌️

@@GabrielTravelerVideos Oh darn im sorry! That makes total sense ! :D

@@GabrielTravelerVideos The difference between theater and amphitheater that our friend points out is correct. However, in modern Greek it is customary to use the term "amphitheater" for any theater, or lecture theater, with tiered seating arranged in a semicircle. So, calling Dodoni (and other places of similar shape) an amphitheater is ok. You will hear Greeks call it this way, you will see it written on signs as such.
@ageoflove19805 ай бұрын

Gabriel, now that you are at Epirus, you should visit the Zagorochoria region,north of Ioannina and, just because you love mountains, you should DEFINITELY climb up to the summit of Gkamila Mt. (loosely translated to Camel) and visit also the Drakolimni (Dragon Lake). I think it's still snow covered up there, but the path up to the summit is one of the most beautiful of its kind and you can choose between staying at the mountaineers' log/shelter,or put a tent just outside of the shelter,where there's enough space for camping. I've done most of the most important summits in Greece, including Mytikas-Olympus of course and this one is probably the best And when you reach the summit,you will have the most astonishing full view of the Vikos Gorge, absolutely stunning.
