Congrats on your first successful trip on your rig! You are now at "fine tuning" stage!😁 Each additional trip will help you learn what you really need and don't. Sounded like you are heavily depended on battery for your need. Maybe having portable solar panels might help you out a bit. Good luck on your future trips and safe travel Bill.🙏🙏🙏

I’m thinking they should install a permanent luggage rack on top and bolt a solar panel or two to the rack, so it’s secure.

@@VeldaE12 I’m not opposed to that just gotta save up funds to get the rack and whatnot ;)

Yep I did order a 120 watt folding panel it just showed up so I get to play with that when I get home ;)

@@StaceyBillsAdventures You had mentioned worries about theft, so I happened to recall seeing someone else, probably on Bob Wells channel, who had attached solar to a luggage rack. I’m glad you will have it to play with before next trip.

I have a motorcycle battery. The others weigh too much for me to move and I want to be independent and not depend on someone moving or lifting it for me. I have solar that keeps it charged if Boondocking but I don't use it for any thing but phone and a fan, I have some small battery packs that will charge my phone 4 times before they need recharging. I use Luci lights that I store on the dash until needed. so very little solar usage. I am getting a fridge (a gift from family) so I will need to check on if I have to get a big battery and if it could be put up under the hood somewhere or if I have enough with the little battery. I'll figure it out when I go to pick it up. I'm learning as I go, (aren't we all LOL) watching others in their van helps pick up tricks and tips. you will soon be at 1,000 subs before you know it!

What kills my batteries the most is the cpap and fridge I did buy a 120 watt solar panel but it didn’t come In time to bring on this trip. Normally as I drive I can top off batteries but it seemed like I couldn’t keep up with the power use especially once I arrived and was stationary for a few days. Before my trip in May I plan to have the ac200p battery if all goes well and that should help big time.

not sure if you've mentioned this in any other videos... what do you do for night time ventilation ? I have reflectix window coverings and not sure how to ventilate the van and maintain security and privacy
@StaceyBillsAdventures2 жыл бұрын
We have the back window open a bit. I have seen a "screen" that goes over the window allowing you to keep it open with no bugs getting in.

Do you guys ever camp as a couple in your van?
@StaceyBillsAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Yes, we have camped together in the van. We were just to lazy and relaxed to do any videos LOL
