The simplification of life is one of the steps to inner peace. A persistent simplification will create an inner and outer well-being that places harmony in one's life. . . . Thanks Matt for keeping it simple !!

He teaches classes in Boulder Utah. If you're serious you can get a hold of him and fly to Utah and train with him.

We drink out of springs, water holes, and streams that are high enough (if we know the source). if there is a doubt, we boil the water in a wood/gourd container (using hot rocks) or in a stainless-steel bottle. It definitely helps to have an intimate knowledge of the land to be familiar with the water sources in the different seasons.

Was a huge Cody fan, but I must say I am even more impressed with Matt on DS. Cody and Matt would be an intriguing combo for a show

Even though Matt is very respectful of nature he is definitely more comfortable impacting it. I actually think Matt is a better survivalist than Cody. They are pretty close but Matt seems to be really productive. He produces shelters very quickly and is good at hunting game.

Awesome Matt, you really deine the concept of "traveling light". Love you on Dual Survival and have followed you since the early '90's and Wilderness Way Magazine! I'd love to see your stone knife and how you made it in detail!

Matt seems like such a genuinely nice and chill guy. Really looking forward to how he will mesh with GI Joe. Would love to see Joe bow up on Matt, and get his clock cleaned by this unsuspicious savage that is well verse in Martial Arts.

Making a fire and boiling it is best. There are many ways to improvise a boiling vessel. Personally, I'd carry a stainless steel container though

jabames a I just saw the Dual Survival ep where Cody heats up rocks until they are scorching hot and then places them in a dry bag filled with murky water; the rocks made the water boil for well over 15 minutes until all parasites, etc., were killed off. I can't remember the name of this technique, but it's a cool survival trick to have in your wheelhouse if you're a survivalist. (I have so much respect for both Cody and Matt. They both remind me of my Great Uncle Cliff who used to take my cousins and I hiking on the Appalachian Trail when we were kids. Well, Cliff looked more like Matt, actually. But Cody and Matt both have his spirit and passion for nature. Now disabled, I admire ANYONE who gets outside and lives life to the fullest; inspires me to never give up.) Enjoy your day!

My Real Name yea, it was dave, and so fucking what if he LIED as you all say, let me guess, never lied huh? oh, but must be a christian, and that means your free to dog others sins, but your exact same sins are not of any concern. funny knowing 100% that every single one of you that talk shit on dave, has done the exact same thing. he did not steal valor, or say he was a soldier and never was, he had done training in ALL the things he exagerated, just not as much as he had said. as well, had been a long ass time since he was there, so it would not be hard to have things bleed together, he is 3 x the survival person that joe is, joe is simply a millitary person, dave is a soldier, as well as a full on survival EXPERT and has far more to offer then joe ever will, cuz he is to arrogant, and to conceded to learn shit.

Dave has a new show anyhow. Not bad either. But back to the original comment by +Bryan Baker, if it was cody and matt it wouldnt be as 'Dual' as otherwise. Theyre both hippie. Thats why they have an army guy and a hippy.
