The bus system and buses are lightyears better than the ones here in the states, it’s been a while since I traveled by bus in Mexico like 10yrs probably but even then those buses where way better than the Greyhound junk we have in the states now! The Greyhound station here in my hometown is a dump!! Lol. I know there’s not a lot of demand here to travel by bus but either way... even the more luxurious buses here aren’t as nice. Luckily I don’t have to travel by bus here in the states but when I go to Mexico I won’t hesitate to use the bus system! Great video guys and that’s an awesome looking bus, things have changed since I traveled by bus in Mexico. Looking forward to all your adventures in Querétaro!

Supply and demand. Mexicans have different needs than people here in the US. They prefer to drive, it gives them more freedom. But I understand it’s nice to just relax throughout the trip.

Greyhound sucks? Never traveled on greyhounds but thought they were way better than Continental Trailways, least from a hillbilly's point of view, the bus depot for CT was a tour agency for the Canyonlands/Arches nat'l. parks, during the day we'd buy our bus ticket and the lady would say be sharp on the dot at 6:00 a.m. and the buses were puntual, from there it would be about 5 to 6 hours with final destination: Salt Lake City, but the buses were nice.

I was glad to see you chose ETN, they're the best with the most room, plus the trip to Queretaro is very short so a breeze. Hope you enjoy Queretaro. Do not sit in the first floor seats in front of the bathrooms, lots of traffic and it smells, ok? Stay upstairs. Go to the La Cruz Municipal Market and look for "El Guero y Lupita's Gorditas de Maiz Quebrado" you HAVE to try these, go early or they'll sell out; also, same place look for "Don Chamorro" tacos, both really cheap and wonderful, come in through Garibaldi Street where the flower stalls are (they're amazing too). There's also some ladies inside that have guisados which are soo good! Also there's Santa Rosa Viterbo Church (you won't believe it), Zocalo, Cafe Breton by downtown, great coffee and food. La Mariposa downtown too. Very walkable area around the zocalo, hope your weather is as great as ours was! Enjoy!!

Did I tell you before that my son is a bus driver (un chofer). He and his partner drive from Monterrey to Minneapolis/St. Paul (sometimes through Dallas). He used to drive to Chicago, and then on the East Coast from Florida to NY. I've ridden on his bus with him a couple of times. It's 11-13 hours from Dallas to Monterrey, depending on how much time at the border. I had to pick him up just a couple of days ago in Grand Prairie. His bus broke down and was hauled back to a big bus repair center in Grand Prairie.He stayed with me for about 24 hours and then he caught a southbound bus back to Monterrey. His line is not the luxury ones bit still quite comfortable.
@kinetickennons
@kinetickennons 6 жыл бұрын
Wow-that is awesome! I did not know that! We hope to go to Monterrey soon so we may work something out where we throw in a trip to Dallas and then bus back with him! That would be awesome!
@BettyA
@BettyA 6 жыл бұрын
That would be cool, but do remember his busses are not anywhere near the luxury I see you in on this bus. Yes there are restrooms on the bus, but I would only use them if absolutely necessary. The bus usually stops at one of those large gas stations where there are clean restrooms and restaurants about once every 3-4 hours so it's not bad. It gives you about 30 minutes to grab a bite to eat and clean up and that's usually enough. My son would love to have you as guests. Maybe I'll go with you. I'm thinking of making a trip there soon because there are three dentists in my daughter-in-law's family and I need some serious help, soon! I literally have a toothache as I'm typing now. Monterrey is not like the pretty colonial towns you've been visiting. It's big and industrial. Anyway, if you do decide to do something like that, be sure to let me know b/c maybe I'll plan to meet up with you.

There in Queretaro,you should go to Peña de Bernal(It's one of the biggest monoliths around the world) ,El Cerrito (It's a tolteca archeological zone,there you can find a huge pyramid and climb to the top) Cerro de las Campanas (It's a hill where was executed Maximiliano de Hasburgo,he was an european emperator)and Sierra Gorda(It's a mountain range,there you can find a forest and waterfalls) . Also in Queretsro city there are a lot of interesting museums and churches.Good luck!

I loved your video!!! Everything felt so familiar... I’ve been travelling from CDMX to Guadalajara for the last 7 years and I can tell you I enjoy it every time! I mostly travel by ETN (the best bus line with the worst lunch! 😂) but Primera Plus is also a very good line as well as “La Línea”. Primera Plus gives better and bigger lunches. Sometimes I have had the luck of having Krispi Kreams at ETN lunches, but it is not very common. For the rest, ETN is really comfortable and when you travel through the State of México and Michoacán (on the route to Guadalajara) the landscape is really beautiful 😊 I have also travelled to Acapulco (by ADO if I recall well) and it was a very affordable trip. When you travel by bus in Mexico you have the chance to enjoy the views, have a confortable nap or even work! Which I have done several times and it is so nice because nobody interrupts you and if you ran out of battery, you can charge it at your own seat and continue working 😊 Well guys have a great time at Querétaro!

a lot of people prefer to take the bus even if you have the resources to take a flight because its more easy, takes in some cases the same amount of time, its more cheaper the seats are way better than the low coast airines, i dont know if you noticed but even with the bad conditions of some roads here the bus ride its pretty nice, soft, you don feel the road its like going over an airbag. nice video keep it up.

Welcome to Querétaro! Etn is my favorite bus line, their double deckers are really cool, although I'd have to disagree with you Goyo, the Best seats in the bus are the ones on the front of the top deck. The terminal de autobuses de Querétaro might seem new but has more than 20 years, it is overall well maintained plus it gets constantly updated. BTW, sent you an email with my recommendations 😎.

Some advice from a grandpa…1. Take the bus. See the country. Smell the roses. It will suddenly dawn on you when you're my age -- 71 -- the trip is as important as the destination. 2. Bring some chow with you. Your pallette and stomach will thank you. You'll get rest stops where you can eat in a restaurant on longer trips. 3. The buses and stations in the smaller towns aren't so luxurious, but much better than airplanes and airports. 4. If you take the bus from Mexico to the US stay on the Mexican bus as long as possible before you have to switch to a US carrier.

I agree, I spent 21 days in Mexico last December and took the bus from CDMX to Queretaro, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi, Guadalajara, Morelia, and back to CDMX. I plan on returning to fully explore Morelia, San Miguel de Allende, and Guadalajara and the lake. My only challenge was using the restroom in the station because I travel alone and I could not take my bag past the revolving gate at the entry of the restroom, (by the way, the restrooms were generally well maintained and clean and cost $5 mxn) so sometimes I had to store my bag and also avoid tanking up on fluids before the trip. I am learning to travel lightly so I don't have this problem again.

Plus every country has its problems and bad areas the USA is no exception! I was born and raised here in California I see The Good, The Bad and The Ugly on a regular basis. California is a beautiful state but it also has its ugly side just like the rest of the country. The USA is beautiful and so is Mexico, can’t believe you live in Mexico and don’t know the great bus system! Venture out and explore your beautiful country! 😂✌️oh the bus system here in the States sucks 😂

Guillermo Ochoa I don't live in Mexico city and obviously you don't either based on your reply. I was born and raised in Mexico city till the age of 19. I live in the states now. I do follow the news about Mexico city from time to time and I have family down there. You don't have to tell me how bad it is down there. I see it in the Mexico news and my family confirms it. Beautiful country indeed but not to be taken lightly or think that it's the safest. But how would you know?

Latino Man I know cuz I’ve been there many times and I have family there!! That have lived their whole lives there! They have no intentions in coming to the USA to live, they’ve come to visit yes but are happy living in Mexico and Mexico City, it all depends on where you live and who you hang out with like any place in the world you have to take your precautions. I’ve gone to visit my cousins in Mexico City many times and spent many days with them and they don’t live in the nicest neighborhoods either, yeah they don’t live in the worst parts either but like I said it all depend on the area and who you hang out with! My parents are in Mexico right now and having a blast! Like I said I live here in California and don’t have beef with people cuz I don’t hangout with that kind of crowd or go to those dangerous places! Here’s a true story last summer I went on road trip across New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon, you know what our car got broken in and they took all our stuff and they even tried to steal the vehicle! This all happened in a very nice part of town In a very good hotel in Albuquerque! Does this mean that I’m supposed to never go back or be scared of going to Albuquerque! Of course not! I live in Salinas California known to be a very dangerous town in California, I’m I scared to walk out the door cuz I’m afraid I’ll get shot!! Of course not! There’s been a lot of shootings here in my town but it’s between gangs. Same thing in Mexico. Trouble attracts trouble. If you’re one of the bad guys you’ll have problems! Not saying innocent people haven’t fell victim but don’t come over here like it’s all bad. I’ve traveled a lot throughout Mexico and have lots of family down there so I have a good idea! Your 19yrs old and have a lot to learn still, at that age we think we know it all. Like I said Mexico has its problems it’s not perfect! I can respond in Spanish too cuz I’m proud of being Mexican and my Heritage and I’m tired of people giving us and Mexico a bad rap cuz of a few bad apples!! I can’t change the world but I can change myself and do my part.. change starts with one’s self.. enough of this badmouthing Mexico there’s plenty of that in the media and from people like yourself. Being a better person is the best way to make a change, it may not make a big difference but at least we’ve done our part. Oh sorry misread thought you were 19yrs old regardless, I don’t take back anything I said! Plus the news only shows the bad news cuz that’s what sells !! You hardly ever see something positive in the news it’s 95% negative cuz that’s what sells. Here in the local news they show all the bad stuff of Salinas they hardly ever show the positive side... only the murders, robberies and so on. They don’t show the hardworking people that work the crops that we all eat across the country or all the beautiful areas or people who are making a change. I never said Mexico was the safest place in the world did I!!? I’ll say it again México has its problems and dangerous areas( just like every country on earth)there’s no denying that but the media and people like you make it seem like it’s a war zone! Which is false! Peace ✌️ out buddy

+Guillermo Ochoa I was born in México and it's true all what you wrote. Many people use to think that it's real all what the media write and spread only shit about México. We, who are living in México and those who have come and know the reality of living , can talk without any influence. Discover the reality. México isn't the hell and poverty full of drugs and crime the media presents to the world. We live the reality of our country and know better than anyone. I way to t everybody: don't be afraid of knowing our country. You'll have a great time and you will enjoy so many places, food, culture, and so many good things you won't forget. You will come back more than two or three times. Garantized!

3 bus stations in Mexico City will get you anywhere in Mexico; driving is stressful. I also have a Dahon folding bicycle with me on the bus without any problem. ETN has direct route to Nuevo Laredo if you want to cross back to TX; Greyhound has a station in Nuevo Laredo as well.

As far as I know, you can travel from Queretaro and Leon to Houston, Dallas, Kansas City and many other cities in between all the way up to Chicago and New York. There is a GREYHOUND Mexican subsidiary coach line called Autobuses Americanos providing transborder international service to many points in the USA and maybe also in Canada from some few selected central and northern cities in Mexico but there is also an American style GRAYHOUND terminal in Monterrey with daily service to several towns and cities in Texas using American Greyhound coaches.

That bus looks comfortable.I wish our greyhound buses were something like this .The last time I rode on a Greyhound bus or city bus here in the USA was in the 1980's .Our plane seats suck also,the seats are tiny with little leg room.

Once in Queretaro, try Alioli restaurant, the Gorditas lady on the same corridor...it is a hole in the wall, literally, and El Meson de Chucho El Roto restaurant. If you can don't forget to do a wine and cheese tour out in the Queretarian country side...Enjoy Queretaro!

GREAT Vid, I really apreciate your info and I used to travel with another bus company called Omnibus but I will change to that other you guys used looks much better! But what you have to know is that sandwiches are traditionally served in mexican buses!!! We mexicans do love them when we are traveling on bus. Even in the Bus doesnt give us sandwiches we carry them from a store in the central and have it for the middle of the trip.
