Another excellent Ed & Sarah video! We've camped up at the summit and done a short section of the Lolo Motorway. Thanks for the reminder to finish the trip. Thanks you two!

Is that a through road or out & back? Thanks, looks interesting.

It's a through road. Roughly the route is from Powell, Idaho to either Weippe or Kooskia, Idaho depending on how you end the route. It is also part of the larger Idaho Backcountry Discovery Route. You could also choose to do a loop of the Lolo Motorway and the Magruder Corridor using highways 93 (MT) and highways 12, 13, and 14 (ID) to link them together. That would be a grand loop of up to two weeks if you got into side trips, hiking and exploring, or at least 5-6 days if just driving through.

Nice video, looks like a fun trip. Do you need a 4x4?

No 4x4 required but high clearance I'd say.

Are you able to do any fishing on this route? How accessible is the Lochsa River?

The route is on a ridge, not much fishing, but yes the Lochsa is very accessible off highway 12 with some great spots to fish.

What was your average speed for the trail ...how long would it take end to end 5mph 20 hrs ?
@OccidentalistOutdoors
@OccidentalistOutdoors Жыл бұрын
We might have averaged a bit over 10 mph, below 10 for the eastern half, better than 10 for the western half that had recent reconstruction work. At 5 mph I'd plan on about 16 hours drive time, extra for stops or any side trips.
