It feels great to be back competing on the international tatami. I was training hard for over 9 weeks in preparation for this event. The 2022 Karate1 Premier League ~ Azerbaijan, Baku !
Premier League events are where the top 100 Ranked karate athletes in the world gather to compete amongst one another.
The competition style has changed from last year. Karateka, now face each other 1 on 1 using the point system. The one with the highest points will advance. Competing in these events is very important for several reasons. We never know if a new Olympic recognized event will appear that requires you to be in the top 10 of the world ranking in order to qualify. More importantly, the fastest and best way to improve is to constantly battle it out with people better than you. This makes it so that you keep pushing yourself and trying to find that 1% improvement everyday.
Thanks to the points I earned by winning the bronze medal here, my ranking has gone up from number 4 in the world to now Number 3 !
I’m very happy but, the work doesn’t stop here. Let’s keep pushing, lets keep growing! Ill do my best to be a better version of myself everyday.
We don’t know what the next competition will be as the WKF ( world karate federation ) has not announced the location of the next competition. Nonetheless, ill be READY!!!
By the way !!!!!! If you want to take your support one stop further please you code: KARATE at checkout when purchasing any Gfuel Energy drinks. Thank you!!
