Eggs are not in fridge in Europe because eggs aren't cleaned with water so the protective coating stays intact, lowering the chances of salmonella entering the egg.

Wait, you flew into Manchester (7 miles from my house) and are now just a little further down the road from me in the middle of Cheshire in a place I've been driving through regularly for 35 years?!?! You're normally in far more exotic places! Welcome to the UK! Really sorry about the weather, this year we seem to have had our summer in June. Those were British 'Chips', definitely not French Fries which are thin and crispy and you need to go to MacDonalds to find. I've never really twigged that eggs are on the shelf in shops but we put them in the fridge at home, though I was vaguely aware that it's not really necessary to keep them cold. Anyway, hope you're having a great time here.

Back when I was teaching English in Thailand, I was working for a British company. They taught the kids British English, of course, but usually I would also teach American vernacular. In this one lesson, I had to teach the kids the difference between "mints" and "mince". Both words are spelled different and have very different meanings, but they sound exactly the same. Being an American, I taught them that the American term for mince is "hamburger". Upon learning this, one particularly gregarious girl sitting in the front row stood up, turned around to face her classmates, shook her fist as if to put an exclamation on her announcement, and said with resolve "I say hamburger because I'M AN AMERICAN GIRL!" I thought it was cute, and from that day forward she was known in that class as "Hamburger Girl".

Regarding the Eggs in america your eggs get washed which removes the natural protection of the shell on the egg, and since in the uk that doesnt happen our eggs do not need to be placed in fridges in shops.

i believe that european hens are healthier. so less bacteria in the eggs means that they lasts longer and also they get less poopy so they aren't washed so they retain a protective membrane. also why raw egg in dishes are more common in europe. might have changed in the us, dont keep track of the american egg industry. 🙂

Not sure about the hens being healthier. But because the eggs are not washed, they have their outer membrane protected so bacteria doesn’t go inside. Vs US eggs which are all washed so they need to be refrigerated because they don’t have the outer membrane and can allow bacteria to enter the egg.

They just look bubble nails to me, it’s the shape of the acrylic, I’m qualified nail tech so I guess I just notice some things others may not, I love the colour and I also prefer shorter nails, it’s literally just the bumpy look that I personally don’t like, but it isn’t about me, Jordan likes them and that’s what matters that she is happy.
