Traveling to the island of Patmos and walking to the Cave of the Apocalypse

Starting from the Greek island of Kos we took the Blue Star Ferry to Patmos, stayed overnight, walked to the Cave of the Apocalypse, and took the Dodekanisos ferry back to Kos.

Quite an experience! I actually kind of liked the singing, no idea what they were saying though lol.

I love how peaceful it was there during the offseason. Your morning walk up the hill looked so pleasant. The singing and praying was neat to experience; way to keep the camera rolling. Were those men from the nearby monastery? Do you know if that singing is a daily ritual at the cave?

Yes the offseason was great for being able to take our time and soak in the experience without crowds. The men were part of the service, a few times they assisted with moving some candles. I don't know how regular it was but it seemed like they had a pretty solid routine down. The two men would help with moving candles and assisting the priest at times. I was pleasantly surprised to show up and experience it. Afterwards the local woman who arrived at the same time we did was kind enough to point out some of the main highlights of the cave.
