I loved this serious with your mom. Nothing in this world is more important to a mom then time with her son. A mother spends a lifetime thinking about her child. Rarely does the child spend any of their time thinking about mom. Beautiful trip.

Good morning, Robert and Mrs. Morales. I believe Charleston is the prettiest city in America and so much history. Savannah is historic but Charleston has it beat on beauty. It was wonderful to travel with your mom. Cherish these moments forever. Take care and always be safe, my friend.

When you get back to Charleston, consider going to Fort Moultrie. This is where, generally speaking, the Revolutionary war started. It is also why the Palmetto Tree is the state tree and you see the design everywhere. Fort Moultrie was built using Palmetto trees - because they were so fibrous, the trees absorbed cannon balls from the British and the Fort held up. Great video of two charming cities.

Beautiful tour. I used to work and live in Summerville, only a few miles from Charleston back in 2002 to 2005. This brought back some great memories. Savannah is gorgeous too. You could spend a week or more in both places and not see everything. So many museums, plantations, historic homes, etc.

Robert, we took our rig to James Island Park last summer, what an incredible place to stay! That canopy of oak trees on the way to the park was a bit nerve-racking for us driving a 12'10" motorhome, but the AC's were still on the roof when we arrived, lol! We don't pull a Toad yet, but the park does have a $10 R/T shuttle to downtown Charleston. Also, so much to do in the park...miles of beautiful paved bike trails, water park, paddle boats, rock climbing wall...highly recommended!

Morning Robert, happy Sunday! My visit to Charleston was kind of the opposite of yours--I only did the boat trip to Fort Sumter and missed everything else. After seeing this episode it's clear I need to go back. I love all those big moss-covered oaks in that area of the country. Seeing your tornado warning experience is very reminiscent of when I had to find shelter last month during a storm in...wait for it...Perry. Can't wait to see the new episodes when your Lewis & Clark adventure gets under way for good. Happy trails!

It's always interesting to compare experiences from places you go to that my wife and I have been to many times ourselves. You don't leave much out, and give a very fair presentation....highlighting the good parts worth seeing. One thing that's amusing is that the round building seen several times (when you were crossing the bridge after City Market) was a base design for urban Holiday Inns. The one in Charleston is no longer a hotel any longer. Atlanta had one near Doraville just off of I-85 (it's a club now), Raleigh, NC has one downtown but it's about to get torn down for a new hotel. There are a number of others, but those three come to mind. Once you've seen a couple of them, you'll notice them in a lot of places. Great video as always!

One small correction, that's Lake Norman north of Charlotte, NC. Both Charleston and Savannah have their charms. Both are very historic but I feel Charleston is better for foodies, and Savannah is better for its squares and parks. You definitely found places I missed in my brief stays there.
