Robert, On the this trip through Tennessee you drove right by my house. When you went through Union City, past Discovery Park you were on Hwy 51 south and our house is right off the Obion exit. Wish we knew you were coming through we would have loved to meet you. Oh well maybe next time. Oh every time I watch your video's I get your music (ear worm) sticks in my head all day. Great stuff.

*Just south of Macon GA is the place where i was raised called Warner Robins. home of Robins Air Force Base and they have a Huge aviation museum there also now as well as lots of rich southern history sites and monuments. if you come back through Nashville which is the area i live in now you might check into the KOA at exit 98 on i-65 that is just down the hill from where i live and i have it on good authority that it's a really nice camp ground. I also lived in Knoxville for 10 years before moving to the Nashville area. if you want to get past all the tourist trap stuff and see the real Gatlinburg you can go straight east on i-40 through Knoxville and get off at the Seveirville / Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg exit which is exit 407 keep going straight till the road dead ends and you can only go right or left keep following the road to the right through Pigeon Forge until you see the Burger King on your right. it will be the only one in that whole area. right next to it there is a shell gas station with a road running next to it called Wears Valley Rd take that right and do not speed it is a little bit steep and hilly near the end of that road but it dead ends on E Lamar Alexander Parkway. just before you get there on the left there is a "Smoker Holler RV resort" on the left , and just before that there is also Cove Creek RV resort (with an in ground pool) or you can press on into the Smoky Mountain National Park by turning Left off of Wears Valley Rd on to Lamar Alexander parkway. there are 3 or 4 full hook up facilities camp grounds between wears valley and the entrance to the Smoky Mountain National Park entrance or you can go to the entrance take a right into Cades Cove and there is a camp ground there as well that you can hook up to everything at also. Looks like you have a DJI Mavic pro Drone like mine and my wife's do you fly it in Sport mode much? it looked like that's what mode you were flying in over the little pond there I know nothing about NC at all so i can't recommend anything there my experiences and suggestions stopped sharply at the Tennessee boarder unless you went further North into Virginia, Ohio or PA*

Cool, I'll probably check out that Aviation Museum in Warner Robins next week, and maybe the Gatlinburg area the week after. Thank you.

Great video, Robert! And I agree about the Loveless Cafe. It’s just “OK”. My wife and I took a drive on the Natchez Trace Parkway a few years back and stopped at the Loveless for supper. It was a long wait, but I had heard how famous it was so we stayed. I’m glad we can say we’ve been there, but it’s not that special.
@TravelingRobert7 жыл бұрын
Glad you didn't think so either. I can't wait to do the Natchez Trace. What are your thoughts about it?
@bigjohnd19737 жыл бұрын
Robert, we drove a section of the Trace from Lawrenceburg, TN to Nashville. It’s a very nice, relaxing drive. Maximum speed limit is 50mph and from what we saw most people abide by it and enjoy the drive. This section in Tennessee has lots of historical and sightseeing stops you can enjoy. We stopped at a few sections of “Old Trace Drive” where you can see spots of the original trail from years gone by. The Meriwether Lewis site was really interesting. It is the resting house where he died of gunshot wounds. Some think it was murder - others think it was suicide. He was the Lewis side of the famous Lewis and Clark explorers. There are numerous waterfalls and trails to enjoy along the way. The Gordon House Historic Site is a nice stop. And one place that is “a must” is driving over the TN-96 double arch bridge. This is one of the most beautiful bridges in the country and would be an excellent place to get some photographs and drone footage. I would love to drive the entire length of the Trace and pull our travel trailer along the way. Maybe one day we can. I really enjoy your videos and commentary. You always do a top notch job!

We live pretty close to Loveless. Food is average in my mind. Those biscuits are delicious, though. Top with butter and their jam and it is heaven. Don't wait and instead just go to the counter and order biscuits to go. :)

Also, if you are ever back this way, you need to drop in to Franklin TN. Great downtown area and there are two historical homes (Carter House and Carnton Plantation) that are fabulous and talk about the deadliest battle in the Civil War. You can still see blood stains on the floor at Carnton from where they operated on wounded soldiers.

Krystals and White castles can help ya if "things are slow or stopped for ya" in the bathroom department. I have a friend say they are better than a box of exlax. I still like Krystals but they no longer like me. I'll go in and get a drink tho...the wonderful oniony smells are free. My old fave was a Krystal on Panama City Beach but it closed. I wanted to cry. Rock on Mr. Robert.

You should do a circle tour of the Great Lakes. It's unbelievable. I'm from Michigan. We have REAL lakes! The rest seem to be ponds. Nothing like a freshwater " ocean". World-class salmon and walleye fishing and freshwater lake perch can't be topped.

Great piece of video Robert. Loved the music especially well on this one. You are fortunate to be able to use your own material on your videos. I do wonder, since you are a professional musician can you use your own work at will? Do you, for legal purposes, have to treat yourself as if you were any other musician or can you insert your own work whenever you like?
