Yes funny how that panned out, I kept having to resist the desire to say the desert resource was drug-based. I certainly wanted some mystery about the place and it feels really grim with a sterile population and clone-grown workers. The fact they love food or have unusual rituals around it was also strange, but I went with a big feasting idea where trade deals are wrapped up in drinking and eating. The mystery of the ancient alien race is also a direction to go - I re-read an early Traveller adventure recently that had an ancient temple but the adventure was nothing more than walking around until you could turn off a self defense generator, felt a little bland but I could mix it in. :). Edit.. Maybe they are sitting on deep wells of water in reservoirs beneath the surface....

Just as an aside, maybe the population's sterility could be due to the atmospheric taint?

@@tamsinp7711 Thats true, could be something nasty. For a moment I was also thinking their obsession with food had replaced "other desires" and they may all just be really heavy and unfit. Sort of fits the banking feasting type idea. Not sure though it feels a bit predictable to make them all over-eaters.

@@RottenMechGaming Maybe the ancient aliens had technology that was like what the aliens technology in the movie Total Recall had where their aincent machines are under ground and once turned on it kind of floods the world but not totaly it just creates lakes and rivers in areas where the underground machines are opening the way for plant growth

@@williamlee7482 Nice idea and something that could be a reason the banking guilds keep things under control. Their deals work best while the population has to rely on imported water sources.

Loving these videos fleshing out worlds, interesting to see your thought process's as you go through it. Giving me inspiration to go and do the same thing with my 2e Mongoose Traveller book and see how the editions differ.

@@RottenMechGaming I'm currently on a mongoose 2nd edition binge trying to pickup and read a book a month at the moment just picked up the Sword Worlds book which is really good and looking to pick up The glorious Empire book next or maybe aliens of chartered space 1

I can imagine there is a heavy connection between Talon system and Toxon system, maybe Talons and Orintharins (if that's what you called them) were once of the same people but due to a communist uprising upon Orinthar both became separated, hence the division between the Talons and Orintharins, with the Orintharins believing themselves to be of the purest form (hence the cloning) but due to little cloning research they still have to wear filters outside because of the toxic atmosphere. Maybe on Talon system, One of the three factions (the representative democracy) is the main government trying to negotiate with the business/trade clans, trading them ice for them to have water on Orinthar whilst also trying to keep independence under a fair democracy but maybe one of the charismatic dictators is ultranationalist believing they should invade Orinthar and wipe them out whilst the other charismatic dictator is pro Orintharin control and believes Talon system should be under Orintharin control. Just a few ideas I thought could be useful. Also desert planet with twin systems, are you sure Orinthar is not just Tatooine?

In your spreadsheet Hydro is denoted as 2D6, with DMs for temperature and atmosphere type. In the 2008 Mongoose Core rules Hydro is 2D6-7 plus Size (many other versions of the rules use 2D6-7 plus Atmosphere - I believe the thinking was that with lower pressure atmospheres water boils off more easily, no matter how big the world). I have to admit to not having watched the entirety of your other vids so I may have missed a reference or note about this. Just curious.

Sorry no they are made by someone on GraphicRiver. They were only a few dollars to download and something I can use in a non-commercial way for these maps if I don’t share. If you check out GraphicRiver you will find a lot of material there. However, I do have some more images that I commissioned for my Gruntz 15mm game which I own and I may start using those in the map as an alternative which can be shared. I will keep you posted if I make the switch.

I did thanks, sadly I can't share it without permission from mongoose because I have included a lot of info from the books which is copyright. It is very very basic though, there are no clever macros or anything in the sheet. It's just a lookup to pull the info through for each selection which is what I wanted, just something to improve manual creation because with rolling I don't need a fully automated system generator for the way I like to work.
