Hey Lex, I hope you have a speedy recovery and get back on your bike soon. I had a couple of questions regarding your recovery. Does it feel uncomfortable to move around without a sling? And are you able to lift your hand above shoulder level?

Hey Devrashi! Thanks for the well wishes! I got out of the sling intermittently starting 2 days after the surgery. Having my arm in that position was creating a lot of pain in my shoulder (mostly the deltoids). The sling was great at first to support the weight of my arm though. A few days post-op I practiced extending my arm (from the elbow, not the shoulder). About 4 days after surgery if I recall correctly, I started doing small movements with my arm and now I can get just past 90 degrees. It helps to have support from a wall. There's a pinchy feeling that freaks me out when I try to go higher.

@@LexAlbrechtx37 Thanks for the information, and I'm happy to hear that you're healing well. It has been 4 weeks since my surgery and my orthopedic insists on me wearing the sling for a couple of weeks more. I think wearing the sling for so long has no benifits, on the contrary it has started to hurt the good shoulder and it's annoying to travel with. I guess I should consult another doctor before removing it completely. And yes I understand the pinching feeling you are talking about, I was scared that my implant would just pop right back out if I lifted my hand beyond a certain angle ( I guess logic is my fickle mistress).
