There are a lot of nice places in the US. There are multiple cities in the state I live in that have very nice Christmas displays in the different indoor and outdoor malls. These indoor and outdoor malls are very very nice, with a couple high class. And I can go to a different neighborhood in a city next to mine and find a run down ugly strip mall. But lets focus on a comparison of the worst of USA vs the best of Russia.

I live in Lanzarote and we never have snow but our Christmas decorations in the streets and malls are beautiful. Each town has it's own nativity scene and they are beautiful too.

In Russia, we also have offspring in which snow rarely occurs, for example, Krasnodar, Sochi and their New Year decorations are also very beautiful, you can watch on KZbin and yet, it is the snow that creates a special mystical atmosphere.

GUM is absolutely gorgeous this time of year! I believe they redecorate for each season. I am sure they have quite the large "redecoration staff" on hand. We used to have a "live" Christmas tree lot near our house - but they moved a couple of years ago. We never bought one (probably why they moved!) but the lot, with its decorations, was nice to look at. Typically, you will see the "live" Christmas tree lots open the weekend of Thanksgiving.

Very beautiful! This level of luxurious display wouldn't be respected in most areas of the United States these days, unfortunately. I think the swan decorations might be because of Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky. I don't know for sure, but it's very popular to go see it performed during the holidays here in the US. I was there in 2002 and it was amazing. Nearby there is an underground mall with a glass dome which is a rotating clock from the square above. I can’t remember its name but it was even more luxurious than GUM. I loved Russia and hope to return again.

However, Russia has changed for better since 2002. Almost every Russian city is decorated as nicely as Moscow these days. We are looking forward to New 2025 coming, hoping that it will bring peace, health , joy and happiness . We are really proud of our country and take pride in our wise president.

Looks beautiful nothing like the boring City l come from where only the basic is done for Christmas. We are spending Christmas in Vienna and it truly is the most beautiful City that has gone to all efforts to decorate for Christmas. Christmas Markets fully decorated with lights , trees and plenty of stalls where people come together and enjoy a good night out. All restaurants and shops are decorated as well as the main square. I wish back home we could do this it would surely put people in the Christmas Spirit. It's truly magical something l will never forget.
