I keep calling these Flea Markets, but is there another name for them. In Australia we call them "Swap Meets" Even though there isn't lot of swapping going on. More like buying and selling. What do you call this type of market? Also if you want to follow my day to day activities. Find me on Telegram: t.me/travellingwithrussell

😄Thanks Russell. Could you imagine them putting clothes and stuff all over the place like that at one of the stations in Brisbane? the Council would have a pink fit! We do have markets with stalls in different suburbs about once a month though to have a stall you have to register ect.., and swap meets & garage sales here as you've said. I haven't come across one with an entrance fee though. Lots of people go about the 2nd hand shops and curbside collections to get stuff to resell like you did. This is so cool how the setup is there! Thanks!

Wow so funny that I as a Swede see an LP-record at the recordstall, 7:41, with the Swedish popgroup Style. They were pretty big in the 80's. Did some nice discomusic back then. They were in the Eurovision songcontest 1986 and ended up in third place. Yes please Russell, buy me one of those cute teakettles at 31.12. We don't have anything like it here.

That's a real flea market! It is really the local people who sell all kinds of things here, most likely at very reasonable prices. This can be seen in the images you posted on KZbin. You will certainly not see any tourists walking around here, only local people. It is also true what you say, by recording the images in English, you create a lot of attention from them. You notice that you are quite a distance from the center of Moscow.

The best places to be in the weekend in Russia, not only Moscow. Nearly every village or small town has a flea/market. When i was a driver and had the time in the weekend,i went to those markers to buy Fresh baked bread or bakery products, like mini pizzas and things like smoked sausage etc. The real taste for a nice price, that was in the years from 1990 untill 2005. And you meet all kinds of nice people there. Those who say the Russians are not having a heart and are cold, never have meet a real russian in their life.

I would also like to recommend another flea market, near Novopodrezkovo (D3 towards Kryukovo) station. Folks call it simply Bloha (блоха). It is, like, 10 times bigger, but be aware to come early, as the merchants leave too soon. You can reach this place taking train from Hovrino, north terminal station of green line, or bus from Hovrino or tushinskaya (400T). If you have unlimited pass for central zone, bus wouldd be total free. But approximately a kilometer walk from the bus stop.

Let me recommend you to visit the "Lilac Garden" at Shchelkovskoe sh., 8-12. In May- early June, this garden becomes the most beautiful in Moscow! The famous botanist Leonid Kolesnikov founded it in 1954 - here he grew varieties of lilac, which he invented himself. Dozens of varieties are collected here in a small area, and all of them are in bloom now! Here you can have a small picnic (only without making a fire). Moreover not far from the "Lilac Garden" there is the Izmailovsky Kremlin, which you may also like
